I'm brand new tekken player. I have about 30 hours on the tekken 8 and I have started maining Asuka and had lot of fun. I'm in the red ranks rn and succeed quite well, cos she's very easy character to learn the basics and do good damage, but I have seen from the tier lists that she is near the bottom so what's up with that? Should I be concerned at some point or just rock with her?

Its because Jun does what she does but a lot better and safer. Asuka got a big buff in her WR 1+2 but truthfully a lot of her strings just puts her in an unsafe position with many to be able to be ducked or just punished out right. Lets not mention her Wall carry is bit on the weak side and her combo from a counter hit is on the weak side too. 2 > 1 > D1+2 (CH) and her F4 (CH) can start a combo but bringing them to a wall is a different story.
She is mid tier now though because of the buff, you just gotta work on the mix up game to climb the ranks and your punishes. 1+2 > Combo and D 1+2 > F2 (holding 1 after) is your main mix up game but D1+2 is really unsafe on block but rewards you with a follow up hit giving you your install. using D3+4 if they lock you into a string with a gap, the first hit should be fast enough to CH them into a full combo. 1 > 2 is your -3 punish, 2 > 4 (or is it 3?) is your -8 punish, DF 2 is your -14 punish / sidestep whiff punish. WR 2 > 1+2 > 2 is your low punish, WR 1 > 4 is your crouching whiff punish (if you ducked a high), and WR 3 is your punish for really unsafe lows, the ones you see your opponents stagger on block (paul's demo man move on block). 3+4 jumps over lows, F2+3 > Combo is your standing punch parry, B2+3 > Combo is your Standing kick parry, and DB1+2 > Combo is your low parry. B2+4 is your parry for any highs and mids that can be parried and you should watch the animations, if asuka flips them to the other side follow it with the F3+4 because its guaranteed and will give you your install. Main random pokes that you can throw out and be generally safe on block, 1, DF 1 ( no follow up), UF 2, UF 3, and DB 3. B3 > DB4 > 3 > Combo to punish people running up on you from afar and F2 to Whiff punish attacks. A lot of her moves can also be canceled into a crouch to help with the mix up. You can play Asuka rush down but compared to other characters, she doesn't do rush down as well as you can see in the video Azu just rushes her taking multiple multiple turns in a row to pressure
Well.. she kinda got buffed a lot recently, and its too early for a tier list since that patch. I'm sure shes moved up. I don't care about tier list anyways. Just play who you like.
@@flashfoward88 Yeah I have bad habit on blaming her Even though it's my defence that is 100% lacking So close hitting purple ranks but playing against others without really not knowing lot about their moves, makes blocking their strings very tough
@@Aksu2222 you'll get there. With Tekken the only way to get better is to keep getting your ass beat lmao and labbing characters that give you the most headaches. My main is still MIA, so I've been rocking Lili this time around. It's been a rough road but I've been having fun.. just been yoyoing in blue ranks rite now. Def celebrating when I get to Tekken king 😁. Good luck with asuka

@@marcoalonzo5224 Can you please explain what buff you're referring to? I'm mainly just talking about running 3,2 nerf, and df 1, 3 nerf
