    My father had this headset with his iPhone 3G and I recently found it. After leaving it on the charger for some time it charged, then I grabbed the lightning to 30 pin adapter from 2012 and connected it to my iPhone X. I got it into pairing mode and it worked like any Bluetooth headset. I did a call, the sound quality was horrible and the battery lasted around 5 minutes. But it was a great vibe from the past.

    The biggest problem with the iPhone Bluetooth Headset, at least back in the early days, was that, like all bluetooth earpieces, it made you look like an insufferable git, when what you really wanted was to show off that you had an iPhone, which made you a different, much smugger insufferable git.

    I have a 13 year old SuperDrive. Apple does not really care. It didn’t matter when I first used it with my laptop, but once I expanded my setup I couldn’t use it with a powered USB dock. If it was a dock via Thunderbolt 2, it would work. But if I booted into windows, and then if I manually installed the OSD driver, I could use it through 3 USB docks in serial with no problems. The barest minimum of support from the very beginning that is more work to remove than to improve.

    • @daanvissers
      @daanvissers 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I think I have a similar issue with my Cinema Display. It has a USB-cable that you can plug in for the USB-ports on the back + speakers to work. If I plug the monitor into a USB-dock, those features don't work, but directly into the MacBook, it does work.

      With Apple, if you do it their way, things are flawless, if not, you will have a hard time. That doesn't show they they don't care. They want their products to be used a certain way, and that has always been Apple.

    I don't know if this is on it's way out soon, too... but I have a Chrome extension that puts the like/dislike ratio on the video thumbnail and it still works. So that's nice, I guess.

    I had this Bluetooth headset back in 2007. I purchased the device with my Brand new Iphone 2gb. I remember it costing $125 and it included the dock charger. I am not sure why your version came in the little plastic box. Mine came in a very nice black box (same size as the iPhone box). I was sold on the thing because I wanted to get the iPhone dock charger station so I could use it next to my bed. And upon seeing that the dock I wanted was included with the headset. Purchasing JUST the dock was $50 plus $35 for another wall plug. All in, this bluetooth headset basically ended up costing only $40 LOL. I used it for about a year every day. I replaced it with a awesome Sound ID unit.

    My dad had one of those bluetooth things. Not gonna lie, those look pretty slick especially for something from 2007

    I can only wish that the first gen AirPods had the same longevity as these 2007 AirPods. Mine still work but won’t hold a charge anymore and will die after 10 mins of use.

      Seems like AirPods are designed to last 3 years and that's it.
