Did nothing happen between 1995 and 2000? I certainly saw the Millennium Dome under construction during this time.

The iconic city thinks it needs skyscrapers to be considered big and bold. It doesn’t. In any case all the skyscrapers it’s put in since the 60s are unmemorable and uniconic.
Having a skyline gives a 3rd dimension to a city. Actually makes standing in any one place visually appealing, rather than just an eighth of a mile around you. Japanese and Chinese cities (with 10-100x more tall buildings) are stunning. Take I95 from Ft. Lauderdale to Miami and you will understand.

@@ChatGPT1111 that's actually outside of Paris, not part of the city itself. The only skyscraper in Paris is the Montparnasse Tower.
@@stefandewet1021 oh stop. It is in the Paris Metro area. I'm from Seal Beach, a 25,000 person suburb of Long Beach, in turn a 450,000 suburb of L.A. I always told Europeans who never heard of Seal or Long Beach, I'm just from L.A.
