    I had bought Christmas clear plastic balls. I made a alien 👽 🤪 but I used one to gather spores. I pulled the cap out and put a gob of agar on the print. I love my new love of growing mushrooms 🍄 😍 ❤️ 💕

      Yeah bro, their still good to consume.
      Shrooms naturally release spores at the end of their growth cycle anyway.

    What are the conditions for storing the inoculated plates?

    • @GoombaGrows
      @GoombaGrows  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I have found success just putting them somewhere high up and sterile and usually keep them at about room temperature. Once they are fully colonized I will move them to the fridge to store for longer. I found that if I add them to my innoculation chamber they sometimes build up excess moisture. (Could just be the way the agar plates were poured)

    I really want to get my first grow going. Ive watched so many videos, mostly your videos. And feel like im ready. But now my biggest thing is finding all my supplies. I wish i could find a good list with everything all in one place so i can kind of check things off just to be sure im good to go. I dont want to have to stop in the middle of it and wait for mail or something like that.
    Also, a good reputable place to buy the spores, grains, all that stuff. Ive seen places with super good prices on spores and others like double or even triple that price.
    Any help would be amazing!!! ❤
    Loving your channel bro!! When i become a pro, I will do something in your honor! As you have taught me almost everything to get going. Great question! I am currently working on recording a video that goes from spore print to fruits. It’s a bit of a process but the easiest way to use your spore print. Is to take a swab / qtip. Rub some of the spores on to the swab and then rub the swab around in an agar dish. From their wait a week or two and you should see some mycelium start to grow :)

      @@jamesfirehummer3216 absolutely! Although it did work for me here and has worked for me numerous times without a flow hood. I still highly recommend one for all mycology work and agar work in particular. However as you probably know, flow hoods can get super pricey and most hobby growers are not willing to pay the price for them. At least not at the beginning of their mycology journey.

    What do you do with the mycelium from the clones after it forms? I’m still new to all this and this is the first time I heard of cloning mushrooms. I know you can scrape spores from a spore print onto agar and start the mycelium that way but never knew you could clone a specific mushrooms from the mushroom itself no spores involved. So after the mycelium grows from the piece of the mushroom is everything else then the same procedure as for the spores on the agar from that point on?

    • @GoombaGrows
      @GoombaGrows  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I am working on making a spore to fruit video in the near future. Usually it is as simple as using the chunks of colonized agar like you would with LC or spores. Just throw it in with some sterilized grain and it should start to grow :)

    Why save a spore print?

    • @GoombaGrows
      @GoombaGrows  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Just another way to continue future generations of a species. Sometimes it can be useful for trying to find new genetics to capture. I’ve seen lots of people get an odd ball albino fruit from a spore print of a non albino species and they are then able to capture the genetics of the albino variant and recreate bins full of the albino fruits.

  • @michaelweimer2499

    You contaminated your sample piece by cutting into it and dragging stuff onto the outside of the stem into the center of it with the kmife thats why you aint supposed to cut it just rip it and if its too smalll then maybe you shouldnt even be cloning that in the first place

    • @GoombaGrows
      @GoombaGrows  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Personally, I think you could provide feedback with a little less arrogance. While you are right, it is better to just split the mushroom with gloves on rather than cutting into it from the outside because the possibility of introducing contaminates this agar dish 100% was not contaminated and never became contaminated. I also don’t believe I ever said it was too small… it was smaller than the mushrooms from the second flush but that’s pretty normal lol..
