Thanks for watching! Those buttons are my garage door openers. I found the buttons on amazon and just soldered the wires from the buttons onto the circuit boards of my garage door opener remotes. The bulky door opener remotes are hidden down under the front fairings and I just have those little buttons on my bars to open my garages.
Thanks for another great video demonstrating the Zumo. I’ll look forward to your feed back on the text messaging integration (I know I asked before) also I do agree partially why do you need this on a motorcycle. For me it’s important since to I ride to work and back using partial highways and those days where I’m sitting in traffic it’s useful to send a group message "going to be late" or a message to my wife "sitting in traffic”. I also have an iPhone and can send message using Siri but can’t read a response since the iPhone is locked in my pocket. Hopefully that all made sense!
David Pisciotta thanks for watching! I actually have not gotten a text message while riding yet so I have no idea how that works. I’ll go film a quick video testing that out and upload. Keep an eye out for it.
It doesn’t include any routes. It does show some off-road trails on the topo maps but they are not labeled. If you can find a kmz file of the TAT it’s very easy to load onto the zumo. I have loaded some of the Backcountry Discovery Route trails onto mine and it’s pretty easy.
Wyatt Moore I have a GoPro tripod mount permanently attached to the windscreen. I used a tripod mount so I could put a screw through the screen cause I had no good way to use a sticky mount. Most of the time the camera stays home and I just have the little mount on the windscreen.
My Zumo XT is pared to my phone however the phone is disabled unless I use a Bluetooth headset to connect. So the way it looks to me - even if you have a phone pared it is useless with out a connecting Bluetooth headset. Please correct me if this is wrong.
It’s a ram handlebar mount with a short arm and an AMPS adapter. I just put some 3M dual lock (super tough Velcro) on the flat side of the AMPS adapter and on my remote. I can angle it exactly where I want it which is nice but it’s a pretty expensive set up really. I just had all the pieces leftover from other projects.
Thank you for the quick response, the info you provide is a great help. I know there is a website that sells the sd card to use in this unit for nav of the TAT so I’ll have to get it as well. Ride on my friend.
Strider 010 the Zumo xt will hold a Micro SD card from 4GB to 64GB. The card needs to be formatted to Fat32 which can easily be done on any pc....and maybe Mac but I don’t know that for sure.
Some Sort of Road Trip do you know if will support the a larger gig? I just bought a 128 gig and am not seeing it after installing it according to instructions
thank you for that review! Sorry for the off-topic, but what are those red and yellow buttons on the left?

@@TourmotoDesign thank you! very good idea!!
Can I load external trail maps from trail masters in this?
If the Zumo is hard wired to a switched 12v, will it automatically turn on and off when power is on or off?
Yes it will.
If my phone is paired, can i get notifications, music, phone call through Siri and stuff, even if the Garmin app is not running?
Yes. The garmin app is just a data connection for the gps to download things like weather and traffic info.

just posted that video.
The Garmin inReach Explorer®+ is not compatible with the Zumo XT. He has the mini which is.
Does this zumo unit include the route for the Trans America Trail ?

what windshield are you running?
I just ordered mine. Thanks for great video 👌
Is that camera mounted permanently to the windshield?

Download Garmin drive that will allow you to use both
what kinda of mount or attachment is that gopro remote using ?

Great guide

Can you not connect your phone as a hotspot and use it for WiFi download of new stuff???
Ryan Jorgensen yes you can do that. As long as you have cell service obviously.
Why not store bird's eye view data on the sd card? It would be able to store the whole solar system planets in a 128GB card.
By the way, what is the sd card used for anyways?
And let's not forget to thank for your informative video series. It is highly appreciated..
Do you or anyone know which memory card fits the XT

@@TourmotoDesign I have a Mac and it is possible to format SD card without any extra software.
