    I mean honestly, MasterBlend should have this linked on their website. You do an excellent job explaining how to use their product. They do not! It’s 2021, I need a channel, very specific instructions, and honestly a personality to present your info. Seems like you have someone to do that right here. Online it says it’s in the 11 to 30 person company. Make it 31. Great video dude. Really

    pour part of the gallon into a seal-able pint or qt jar toss the master bland and epsom salt in shake like crazy to dissolve , do the same with the calcium nitrate in a separate bottle pour the matersblend / epsom salt dilution back into the gallon shake to mix in then pour in calcium nitrate dilution . if you add the calcium nitrate with the master blend then add the epsom salt after some of the calcium precipitates out

    • @SoothingLeaf
      @SoothingLeaf  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey yes it is best to change out the water each time when you first start you want to use plain water until plant has its first set it true leaves then it is ready for some hydroponic nutrients. You want to change out this way plant will have same levels each time you do a swap. If you simply added fertilizer to water it will result in different levels for PPM (parts per million- basically the nutrients in the water) hope this helps and wish you a ton of luck.

    • @graybeard4962
      @graybeard4962 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's the level of fertilizer ions dissolved in the water. They can be adjusted by adding more or less fertilizers and measured with a TDS meter.

    • @SoothingLeaf
      @SoothingLeaf  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Starting is the best and the worst. So many questions and happy moments. I would wait for the seed to sprout from the rockwool and then when it grows a little and you see roots coming out from the bottom. You can then put it into hydroponic system of your choice and add nutrients.

    • @SoothingLeaf
      @SoothingLeaf  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hard to give exact time frame. It all depends on the plant. Just keep watch of the reservoir/container used. When you see almost dry time to change. Don't wait until completely dry will damage your plant

    Thanks for the great video. I think I heard you reference Bobby on MHPgardner. Bobby uses 12g-12g-6g mix for tomatoes (MB-Calcium N-Espson respectively) without a distinction between vegetative or flowering. Your mix for the vegetative is the same as Bobby's Lettuce mix for 5 gal 10-10-5 which would be your 2-2-1. The 3-3-2 mix you use would calculate for a 5 gal mix to 15-15-10 for tomatoes . Just looking for clarification or did you find the your stronger solution 3-3-2 worked better?

    • @SoothingLeaf
      @SoothingLeaf  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey DC I find it works best for plants that produce fruits and vegetables as they require a higher level of PPM and helps during the flowering stage growth. I have tried both and find they both honestly work well. But I prefer to try to provide the plant with as close as possible for the PPM levels. Sometimes I flush the system with plain water or a light mixture like 1-1-0.5 if I see the plant is having nutrient deficiency this helps. If you have the time and space try out both and see what you prefer. There are many different ways to grow and achieve great results. Experience and time will provide you with the best answers your looking for. I hope this clarifies things a bit. I love Bobby from MHP great videos. Don't know him personally but he has an amazing green thumb!

    I have raw ingredients: nitrogen 20-0-0 phosphorus 9-61-0 and potassium 0-0-50. How can I turn this into a 4-4-4 mixture? No one explains this. I'm trying to dilute highly concentrated elements to this ratio. I have no way to measure this, I can't get any info on if the bag of 20-0-0 is that strong still after a teaspoon has been added to a gallon of water or not or if by adding it to a gallon that it has become something more like 9-0-0. I was looking for some info so I can precisely create my own fertilizer ratios myself without just following a schedule that someone has made and blindly following it. Any info is appreciated thank you.

    Hey good video, but not explaining the importance of ph is kind if sending people down a risky road as to not everyone has the same ph water as you do. If I had to make a choice between the two the ppm meter would be the one that could be gone without as long as you know your initial water ppm is not way high, I always have to add a little phosphoric to get my ph down. I do 10/10/5g per 5 gal. for greens and early on plants and the 12/12/6g for my full strength and never had any issues, but have been hearing from some that we should be backing off the calcium nitrate to drop some nitrogen to get better fruiting and less risk of flower drop. But the 15/15/10g seems to work for quite a few of you, I have never tried to push the ppm up like that, mine has always been around 900 tops, Ill have to start pushing it on my next top ups.

    • @SoothingLeaf
      @SoothingLeaf  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Noel thanks for great comment and absolutely right. I will have to make sure to create a video on the important of pH to share some info. We are using basically the same ratios but I see your full strength is slightly different. Do you only grow leafy greens or fruiting plants as well. I use 3:3:2 per gal and get around 1200-1300ppm works amazing for my fruiting plants. Vegetables and fruits require higher PPM levels when they are older and in flowering stage and found really no issues the calcium nitrate. Will have to look into this so more and do more research. I do experience what I think is nutrient burn on my tomato plant that has been alive for 5 months now. But probably my fault for topping off and not waiting until almost dry. I will have to experiment and give your full strength ratio a try. You never know what works best until you try it!

      Hey Janice Harvey thanks for noticing, I bought these I think from T.JMaxx or was possibly a local dollar store that sells a lot of random stuff. I honestly am not sure was purchased a long time ago. (Will keep an eye out for them for you) Try to search for tea drop or leaf shape saucer/ small dish

    Hello sir. , I find your videos very useful and practical. I'm in Ghana in West Africa. I really want to try to try a few jars hydroponics out here. Can you please if feasible send me a few grams of masterblend, calcium nitrate and Epsom salt. It would go along way. Thanks. Mahama Abdul -Basit
