Most, if not all, these bands don't believe in Satan (the character in the bible) they just do this because A) It sounds awesome and B) it drives the fundamentalists crazy. Satanism, as in the actual belief system, isn't about worship of a fictional character, the creed is basically "Do no harm to those who do not wish it, everything else goes.' and the name Satanism is only used for essentially the same reasons as above.
