You can tell that's a location that doesn't get ice buildup. With other P-50 or T-135 sirens, if ice gets pulled into the intake then it gets flung out at high speed, putting holes in the fiberglass horn. When you see sirens with holes in the horn, you usually see them at the siren rotor end of the horn.
Why is it that these Memphis T135s lack that lower pitch hum when facing away? Its a lower sound that sounds like chopping yet it isn't present in either of the healthy t135s.
I love these too. The P-50 is actually the 2nd loudest siren from research. The Chrysler Air Raids were #1, but those were taken out of service, so the P-50 is #1 in terms of activity with a whopping 135 dB from 100 ft away.
this is actually an ACA P-50. this ASC T-135AC was renamed to the ACA P-50 and it is using an ASC control box. its control box will be replaced with an ACA control box in about 9 days.

@@westshore6899 it’s a t-135 ac/rm-135 because it’s made by asc the p50 was made by ACA. The t-135 most people think of is a t-135 ac/dc. You can tell the difference from them because rm-135s have an asc logo and rotate on the wind down and p50s don’t. And t-135 ac/dc look like a t-128.
