i totally agree with whoever says this is the best intro in film history
I can't get over Scott's stomp dance. He just seems so into the song
Cause he actually is really good at the bass and all the music is original and all the cast members we who were in “sex Bo-bomb” had to actually learn how to play the instrument they were playing in the movie in real life with the exception of Michael Cera.
Reminds me of DNA from basquiats beat tape. The bassist would do this crab walk and hop around like he was on a tightrope
Scott pilgrim is such a current film, it doesn’t seem like 10 years since it debuted, it seems like it was last year.
Scott's little dances are the best.
0:23 there's something special about seeing the credits so in tune with the atmosphere of the scene. The text and the music go so well together, like a rollercoaster starting. 10/10 intro.
I do especially love the effects on their instruments as they play throughout the movie. It's just so striking and comic book-y.
Yeah, they should take this as an inspirational to live action, but not in a campy way, just in traditional, more stylish and composing way.
I just noticed that Kim's legs are laying on top of Scott's legs when both of them and Stephen are sitting on the bed and... That's so real. Love that kind of detail
Every single actor listed has their character traits animated around their name. One of the many reasons this is my favourite film ever
Notice a lot of the cast name cards reference their characters.
Chris Evans: Skateboard and “2”
Brie Larson: A broken heart symbolizing Scott’s breakup with her.
Alison Pill: the Sex Bob-Omb logo
Brandon Routh: A bass guitar and an X
Jason Schwartzman: The G-Man logo and a flash of an X
Mark Webber: Sound waves matching the lead guitar he’s playing
Mae Whitman: The X’s and the slices of her weapon
Ellen Wong: The two knives
All of the exes have an X when their name shows up and their number appears for a split second when their name disappears
Beck went absolutely stupid with the rock songs for this movie and I'm so glad that he did.
I just noticed that the actors who play the evil exes have their respective numbers. Edgar Wright is a genius.
It's a shame this movie didn't screen in my country, I'd have loved to watch this at the cinema
The random things they shout just gets me xD
It's pretty funny but honestly if I was in a rock band and we were THAT good, I would shout random things too to express the feeling of adrenaline coursing through my veins as we performed such a badass song, lol.
Did you notice they shouted "THREE!" when Brandon Routh's name came on? 😂
@@downsidestudios and they showed Young Neil’s actor then shouted *YOUNG NEIL!*
I like how when right when it goes to the title card, Scott does that lil pose that’s on the poster
everything about this intro is perfect: scott taking the lead over stephen, stephen trying to take it back, kim not caring and just starting the song - the room getting bigger and deeper to emphasize on the "stage" feeling and then the credits kicking in, each scene being unique and tailored to the actors shown
and the best part is that this is just the beginning, the entire movie is full of these little things, edgar wright is a goddamn genius ✋🤚
You wanna know how good of a film Scott pilgrim is?
Scott pilgrim came out around the same time The Expendables was released in theaters.
Which of the two films are being highly celebrated 10 years later?
I love how when every actor mention appears, the background changes to their characters backgrounds
god the stylization and general feel of this movie was so underappreciated when it initially came out
I heard in the commentary that the cast was supposed to name off all the people in the credits and that this song wasn’t supposed to have any lyrics originally.
Scott Pilgrim - 4 Lines to represent a bass.
Ramona Flowers - The 4 lines turn pink because she's Scott's love interest + Changing colored strands since she changes her hair dye.
Wallace Wells - Draining battery referring to his apathetic vibe.
Lucas Lee - A skateboard + 2 Xs flash alongside while his skateboard company logo flashes + The number 2 flashes at the end.
Stacey Pilgrim - Coffee stains since she works at a coffee shop.
Envy Adams - A broken heart representing she's Scott's ex.
Kim Pine - One! Two! Three! Four! + Sex Bob-Ombs logo from her drum set.
Julie Powers - Black bars to represent censorship.
Todd Ingram - 3 Xs + 2 of the Xs are red to represent his current strikes + Bass guitar sillhouette + The number 3 flashes at the end along with another X to represent the last strike.
Gideon Graves - 7 Xs twinkle as the league's logo forms + A pair of glasses form + The number 7 flashes at the end.
Young Neil - Boxes may represent pixels since he's a gamer?
Stephen Stills - An acoustic guitar silhouette.
Roxy Richter - 4 Xs + The razor represents her weapon? + The number 4 flashes at the end.
Knives Chau - Daul wielded bladed weapons.
Matthew Patel & The Katayanagi Twins - Xs flying around since they're exes + The number 1 flashes on the screen + The numbers 5 and 6 flash at the end.
Stacey is the rim of a coffee cup leaving a stain and the actual splashes of coffee since she works in a coffee shop!
The three squares that show up with Johnny Simmon's name are supposed to be the three squares on Young Neil's shirt.
If only this movie was back in theaters
Edgar Wright just announced it will be re-released back in theaters to celebrate the 10 year anniversary.
I feel like movies like this one should be shown in theaters around the country (i'm in the US) at least once a month. Seeing this in the movie theater would be glorious (as long there weren't annoying people in the theater). I doubt that will happen anytime soon because of Covid-19 bs and all the unrest going on around the country (and the world). I hope we get back to normal one of these days and can feel safe going to movie theaters.
It only took me 6 years since the first time i saw this film and 3 watches to realize the images and colors of the opening scene are not random jajaja
th-cam.com/video/rSFRBzfoMHA/w-d-xo.html I made a video of all the references in the title sequence I still dint even scratch the surface of all the details packed in here
As much as I like the song in the new show NOTHING will beat this!
I was looking forward to seeing this intro but animated and I was sorely disappointed 😞
same here this intro just rocks so hard, it gets my blood pumping so hard. the show just doesn't have that oomph that the movie has.
It was sorta in its own intro especially the stylized backgrounds, and it fits the animé angle
@@xxcreoxx4599At least it means the movie intro still has its own spotlight
@@xxcreoxx4599I legit stopped watching the animated show when I saw this scene there. It's so much worse I swear
This song has so much potential if it is taken seriously. Good Guitar part and really good bassline.
The casting team deserves an award.
I watched Scott pilgrim way after it released but after showing the credits first I knew I was in for a treat
This is the original rough track beck did for the movie, they didnt redo it which makes it so much sicker
Incredible opening to an incredible film. Edgar Wright is one of my all time favourite directors. I love his style of filmmaking, it’s very unique.
This is also one of my favourite movies
Sense no one has talked about it yet IM SO HYPE FOR THE ANIME!!!!!!
It would be also cool if this song appears in the anime
When this movie came out, I was one of the few to see it in my town, and one of the few who see it to like it. I still don't understand why it bombed so hard.
"I guess you guys aren't ready for this yet, but your kids are gonna love it" is how I'd describe films like these that have a strong art/stylised direction with comical actions
it was mostly bc of the bad marketing lmao, the trailer gave it a bad name
Jesus. Love that bass sound. And the whole track.
Watching this in an empty movie theatre was amazing but I wish more people supported the movie when it came out.
"WE ARE SEX-BOB-OMB!!! ONE! TWO! THREE! FOUR!
the world wasn't ready for this masterpiece
Tarantino recommed the powerful and flashy openning to Edgar Wright, best advice ever * - *
You know…I don’t blame Knives became I too would have immediately became a fan after seeing this
I’ve never noticed this until now but in the sequence of names the background animations corresponds to the character that each actor is playing.
For example when Chris Evans name appears you can see a skateboard along with his brand and the number 2
I LOVE THIS INTRO! and that cast list is SPECTACULAR!
they killed the visuals with this one, they really go with the song
This movie is so underrated it’s ridiculous.
My favourite opening sequence of any movie ever
This is just awesome
mark webber is hot in this
Edgar Wright is so epic!
I remember watching this when I was like 12 when I first saw this in 2018(god I feel old saying that) and this intro blew me away, after seeing the animated show I went back to read the comics again since 2018. Amazing series, same with the movie and the show was great.
Seeing this opening when I was 16 changed my mental state forever.
Fine, I will watch it again.
Rappers who can't think of lyrics be like 0:17
And that's how to make a very good intro.
I knew this was gonna be a great movie when it opened with this
i would pay to see this for the first time again no joke
This is a great intro!
I love this so much. One of my favorite intros in movies ever and I love the song one of my favorites in Scott Pilgrim vs the World😍🥰💖💜💙🌈🦄📱
I’ve watched this scene probably ten times today
My favorite opening to my favorite movie of all time
I'm going to tell my kids the title of this song is Launchpad McQuack
The second I saw this sequence, I knew. I knew.
God release a 2nd movie
Besides, this flopped at the box office so I’m guessing the sequel wouldn’t be much better.
The story ended, Bryan would have to write a sequel comic first. I know there's a LOT of untouched side stuff in the comic but hardly enough to make for a coherent and compelling movie especially since it's all tied to the main plot in some way, if nothing else then in terms of timing
The best intro
This is the coolest intro of the cinema history ever!!
0:33 scott off the shits
I can play this on bass now.
H*ll yeah, best intro to a movie ever…
Best intro ever.
Nice.
0:03 - Nice reference to one of the most popular DuckTales/Darkwing Duck characters
I wish they make some reboot for this film, like the plot of adding new villains and new chapter in the comic book.
I just realised that the graphics that show up on screen behind the cast names all have something to do with their respective characters
Gyatttttt ❤❤ great movie
I fucking love this movie
Who is here after Scott Pilgrim The game Re Release 2020
People see the cast names, and go like, "what? What? WHAAAAAAAAT? "
Y3a y3a y3q ✨🖤
I came back here to compare the song from the new netflix teaser
"SKAVELLI!!"
Always thought they sounded like Death From Above
Math Rock is amazing.
Does anyone know what style this art is? I’ve only seen it done a handful of times
the drawn intro kinda reminds me of "Farbstreifen; Bedienungsanleitung" by Lutz Mommartz. which is cool af I think

When he says “laminate the stasis” does anyone know the name of a rock song, where the lyrics sounds similar, with the drums and guitar sounding alike too? The intro triggered a memory of another song that’s in a lot of action movies from the 2000s
bought this on vudu
the fact this movie is a failure pisses me the FUCK OFF
The 2000s didn’t deserve this movie man we could have gotten a sequel where Lisa would be introduced Kim story would be finished and knives gets a better move on and Stephen finally be gay in peak cinema we were robbed also kinda hoped red hair envy showed up in the sequel
i don't fucking care if this movie was a biggest hit then it hits me like a truck when box office opening movie night were getting excited for this comic book movie adaptation and then it flopped for no reason. that's why scott pilgrim movie is the best video game action movie than most boring action movie with all star studded cast of jason statham bullshit...
this is why video game action movie is the key to unlocked all the memorable scenes than boring any action movies that has nothing to do with all action scenes that are so sigma male bullshit
Anyone know where I can find more music like this?
sex bob omb is canonically meant to be a really bad band. i count this as a plothole on the movie’s part because fucking hell
I still don't understand why Scott keeps looking like he struggles with playing the guitar.
The fact that Quentin Tarantino encouraged Edgar Wright to keep this as the intro makes this a whole lot more awesome.
Nah this si crazy😮
He was like “you guys… are so… amaaaazing”😮
No way!
WHOT
Are you fr or just sh#t posting?
