The personal property taxes are going up to 40%. I cant afford to live there now, I'll stay where i live now and just drivec12 hours to see the mountains. Colorado is going to be California 2
Well, best thing we like as newbies to Longmont from SoCal: No fighter jets or Chinook helicopters flying over our home every hour. Instead we have Canadian Geese flying over our home in Longmont. Second thing is not sitting on the I-5 or I-405 for two hours to cross LA or San Diego. Third thing as touring bicyclists that have crossed the EU and the U.S. are the bike paths that cross Longmont. The LoBo Trail goes to Boulder from here, it's off road gravel for cyclists and runners. We sold a suburban home in SoCal and paid cash for a nicer, larger home in Longmont with a bigger yard. Shopping is no problem, Whole Foods, Sprouts, bakeries, coffee shops, Wibbys Brewery, Left Hand Brewery, and a Costco is opening in three months. Just avoid Ken Pratt Blvd and Hover Street during rush hour, and Longmont is sort of small town with a population of 100,000.
I have had positive interactions with the cycling community in Northern Colorado. The biggest issues I have had are with road rage drivers in the smaller county roads
@@GreatLifeColorado because lots of riders don't obey the road rules and drivers get sick of their BS. I'm not saying that's you, but there are a ton of rude road riders. But I mountain bike and would be happy if the abolished all roadies 😂
What's your favorite thing about living in Longmont? OR what DON'T you like?? Comment Below!
So glad to have left
So far you have been pretty honest, but I laughed when you said the food was good 😂
Maybe it’s my military background… anything is better than some of the things I’ve been served ;)

I know valuations have gone up, didn’t know about the personal property taxes, I’ll look on to it and report back
Thanks!

Well Mike sounds like you are fitting right in! Thanks for sharing
Con #3 should have been the cyclists. They don't follow the laws and are a very big pain driving around town and when you get outside of Longtucky.
