I used to be homeless in Boston. I had a nice spot to sleep outside a subway station and it was nice because there was an electrical outlet on the outside wall so I could charge my phone. I used to listen to zombie stories and a zombie podcast (Torres vs Zombies). This takes me back. I used to fall asleep on the sidewalk imagining what I would do if a zompoc happened while I was homeless. Looking forward to finishing this story later while I play a game. No longer homeless, but there's still a part of me that will forever feel homeless, so this story touches home a bit for me.
I'm glad that you're back on your feet. Hope that you enjoy the story when you get to it. And funny you mention games, I just dug out my xbox because I picked up the new Far Cry game. Haven't played since I moved in November.
@Derek I play on PC. I used to use Xbox, but I like how PC you can play old games without needing to dig up an old system. Just beat Elden Ring last week. Great game. Thanks again for the stories.

Was homeless right after high school, slept behind the high school for a summer. Was the same thing, nice and private, had an outlet, sheltered from the wind. Audiobooks and pirated movies were a must.
Absolutely my favorite part, too! NO one knows anything is happening yet, you might hear a strange story here, a neighbor acting crazy there. Maybe some scientists starting to put it together. Slowly more and more things that don't make sense until awareness! And I love stories that start out with completely different people and their individual scenarios, that eventually meet at some point in the zombie apocalypse, friend or foe!!!❤
I had an idea about a story like this about 10 years ago when I was homeless and reading Max brooks. I never wrote it down because I didn't feel good enough to write something anyone else would want to read. Thank you for telling this story in your world.
Yea man, nice story showing how an actual homeless dude would have acted, and despite him not having much it was still more than they had. I spent a winter homeless in NY due to bad circumstances but it teaches you a lot quickly if ya wanna survive and get out of it

I still hit the thumbs up but couldn't stand to hear that guy butcher a great story anymore.. Maybe next post I'll get lucky and someone who can read will be narrating HOPEFULLY...

I understand, but it's one of those situations where if i don't use the AI narrator, then the story wouldn't exist because I would only be able to afford to do 1 story every few months, instead of 2 stories a week. The voice is getting better though!
