All the recommended soundproofing products I talk about in this video can be found in the description of this video. Don't forget to SHARE, LIKE, COMMENT, and SUBSCRIBE. Doing this really helps small channels like mine to have a chance on TH-cam. Thank you!

This was like...the most I've learned about refrigerators ever and I wasn't even bored. Thank you so much for knowing things about refrigerators.

I have small commercial prep fridge that is brutal when it comes to making noise. I've to unplug it and use it for dry storage. We now need more fridge space so I want to try to stop or at least lesson the noise. Your video and website have been very helpful. Residential fridges are extremely expensive and out of our budget. Hope this works. Thank you.

4:25 I don't quite understand how applying sound dampener to my cargo van will make my refrigerator quieter, but at this point I'll try anything.

If you wear ear muffs that will reduce the noise of your compressor.

hi from Milan, I love the video, i have a brand new fridge in a new appartment i just renovated. The issue is that the floor where is located (that specific corner)has a slight leveling issue ( is the reunion of two types of floor). I have tried to leveled the feet thousand times and seems is now ok but still makes noise. I have put a towel on the floor to reduce the sound and seemed to work the first weeks but now started again with the buzz. I cannot change the fridge position. I will try to add rubber to the compressor (allthough I am afraid to break it) or paste mass loaded vinyl in the back wall . thanks for the advice!

Great content, Thanks! Is there anyway you can amplify your narration or quiet the background music. It was a struggle to clearly hear your voice over the background music. I came to your vid to learn ... not listen to background music. Thanks!

Helpful video. Any thoughts on ferrite beads to clean up the signal going into the compressor motor?
I wish the manufacturers would allow you to order it with these things pre-installed, charge me $100 extra to get the compressor with noise-dampening. Upsell me please.

Ironic that a video about making a noisy refrigerator quieter should have annoying music in the background.

How do you attach the MLV to the compressor in the fridge? My GE is driving me crazy. I had the complex switch it out already once (the last one was way worse!) What is up with these GE's. Would it be safe to wrap your compressor in MLV - would it cause a fire? Please let me know.

Hi, I'm trying to dampen the sound from my home fridge's compressor. I could just put a towel around the compressor, and/or on the outside of the air vent, but I'm worried about blocking the airflow, causing overheating or igniting the towel. But it seems like noise-blocking blankets and motor covers are commonly suggested solutions for noisy compressors. How does something like mass-loaded vinyl avoid overheating or ignition?

Our 3-4 year old GE side-by-side fridge has recently begun to make a fairly loud, one-to-two second whistle just as the compressor kicks on. Anything to worry about? Thx.

If the compressor is permanently working you might turn down the heat in your kitchen

I can suppress the sound of my two fridge by toggling the temp, but that can only help so much, and my ma can’t sleep when the fridge gets too noisy.

When will a genius in this world create a refrigerator that has a ninja silent moves through day and night..... I cant sneak a refrigerator at my dorm because it will sound motorcycles and my landlady might add more to my bills which she already has with other electrical charges on my room. Fk, oh and i cant stand the refrigerator sound.

None of these solutions are sensible for fridges in a household environment. If your fridge makes unbearable noise its best to get another one

The only tip in this video worthwhile is cleaning the evaporator coils, fan blade, and compressor every year or so. All the other tips are harmful to the unit. And, the fridge in the video is decades old.

I think you have more problems if you think your fridge is too loud. Most newer ones are very quiet, also hearing that sound "to me" is very comforting knowing it is actually working, (I store my meds in the fridge)

This is pretty involved and I don’t think the avg person would feel confident doing most of these steps. You best own your refrigerator, too, apartment mgrs might not be willing to do any of this for you or let you do things to their appliances. Even paying for everything yourself. It’s a real problem, especially if your kitchen is located near the tv or any sleeping area.

Do not poop in the refrigerator. Do not argue with the refrigerator. The refrigerator is not your friend, neither is the freezer. Do not poop in the freezer.
