Could you please answer a question for me? I have children that think they can drink alcohol and still be Christian. Could you tell me what the bible teaches on this subject that I can get them to stop with biblical backing. Your brother in Christ Jim G.
The focus really should be on proclaiming the gospel of Jesus; His gift for salvation. Christians can have alcohol. If a person is in the habit of getting drunk all the time, that can be an issue which ends in many trials and the way to bring resolution, to break the habit of being drunk, it is to believe in Jesus; His gospel. A person has a better chance to be set free from drunkenness when their foundation is solid which comes by knowing what Christ has done for our sin. The Spirit of Christ is power and His power comes by believing Jesus; His grace which is His truth, His gift for salvation and His truth sets the mind in the direction for knowing Jesus' Spirit can break every chain which binds a soul, in whatever it may be. To not believe Jesus; His grace, it is the worst thing that anyone can do because without His Holy Spirit gift to break the chains of bondage, there will always be a door to open which ends in fails. The gospel of Christ; His free gift for salvation, By His Spirit of truth is power, His power which He leads the way in all things and for His glory.
