We've had a few inquiries about the Metzeler ME880 rear on the Suzuki V-strom. We've been using the 160/70-17 (OE Tire for the BMW K1200LT) for several years and we're happy with the result. We've measured the width and compared it to the Metzeler Tourance and it is about 5mm total width wider (vs the 10mm the sizing would indicate).
Correct. The TR91 is a very good tire for the large dual sports bikes (R1200GS, etc.) for road use only. Pick the tire for the terrain!
Great information. Thanks for posting!
last comparison test winner was the Dunlop TR91, but it was just for road use.
Great info... best tire review I've seen!
I've used the Avon Distanzia off road (mud) and yeah it was terrible but awesome on the road. Horses for courses
@brashkov They are not included as this video is more for the larger Adventure bikes with 150 wide rear and 110 wide 19" fronts. The Gripsters are only available in 130/80-17 rear size and 90/90-21 front size.
I've got a DL650 with HIEDENUA K60's on it they've given me over 25K and still lots left on them.
+fa6529 I have no problem with them . Although the DL650's don't have much of a lean angle when banked over in a corner
Try finding the Mitas tire. It just isn't available here.
Great info!
What about wet weather? I live in N. Florida and we have rainy seasons.
We'll be more then willing to help you select the tire that is right for your riding.
What about the TKC70 nowadays? :) update the video , please
Where do the avon gripsters figure into this mix?
How about the Mitas E07?
Great video... but c'mon what horrible audio quality.
good but too much echo. you should be waring the microphone instead 😉 tips for next time 😊
Great job describing the various options and the difference between them. I'll be sure to contact you when my V is ready for some new shoes! Thank you!
