  • This video demonstrates how to replace a worn (but functioning) integrated Hyundai i20 remote control.
** IMPORTANT ** THIS IS NOT AN EASY TASK. If you are not careful enough you might break the immobilizer chip and/or electronics parts. THIS VIDEO DOES NOT RELATE in any way to Hyundai Ltd. nor to the key replacement seller. REPLACING the key is on YOUR own risk.

Thanks, I assume that this is ID46 chip which you can buy integrated in a full kit (and not just the plastic shell)
These kits are a bit more expensive than the shell itself...
Please note that you will have to use a programming device in order to program the new chip.
      Good luck!

Hey, thanks for the video. I am still afraid if during the sensor removal from old key, i may end up deteriorating it. Is it safe the way you removed it? Will it work? Please help.

Pragnesh Trivedi no one can guarantee that the chip will not break. Yet, from my experience its shell is hard enough for protecting it, and even if you scretch it you are not destroying the chip. Be gentle and work slowly and it should be fine. If you are still worried, you can always go with the both keys, the old and the new since the chip is not related to the keys radio transmitter circuit but only to the car's ignition protection system. Good luck!

Done one today, its a bit stressful as I expected to have trouble removing the chip, but, it fell out! Go for it. about 45 mins to do.

Between 1:17 and 1:23 there is some step missing because after removing the battery, there is no way I can see of removing anything more. Nothing just snaps out like it is shown in the video which obviously is edited in those seconds.

Sandesh D'Souza the shell is not one block. The video was cut so you will not get bored looking at me forcing it open. But I did not use any tool, just hold the both sides and force it to open, exactly as shown in the video.
