    I like that it has rotary knobs rather than up and down buttons. It's a shame that Megger still haven't introduced a Fluke style hard storage box.

      They used to do hard cases, my 1552 has one. Don't know if they make any for the 1700/1800 series, though.

    That Megger X1 MFT does look great. Nice to see how it intergrates with the software on the Tablet.

    I don’t know why people are so hard on the price. I’m not even an electrician and mid way through doing my L2 electrical installation and I bought one of these at the start of my course in March. Although never used it and won’t get the chance to use it for a few more years. STILL, when the opportunity arises I know I’ll have the best (my opinion) MFT tester on the market. Just need to figure out what I’m doing with it.

    From one of my CPD sessions with NIC EIC I believe X2 is usually a manufacturer test . This tester looks fantastic. Shame I had to by a MFT 1741 in lockdown because my old set was time X .

    It looks great but the only thing I reckon might be a downside is that when your doing a big EICR all the switching between iPad and meter will take the flow out of the pace. Maybe it just takes a bit of getting used to.

    Thanks for the video it really does look cool, but way too expensive at £1600. Think I'd get an MFT 1741 at around £1000 and stick with the NICEIC online certs...You didnt show what the megger certs looked like, apart from a very quick glimpse at the start.

    Being the owner of an MFT1740, converted by Megger to the 1741+, (as well as having the Kewtech KT66DL) it is good to see that one of the negatives of the previous Megger MFTs of the cable sockets position has been addressed, moving the cable ports from the rear of the top, to the front of the top to prevent damaging the cable ports. My Megger had to go back twice for repair to the cable post circuit board and that was with me looking after it Personally, I think moving to rechargeable battery pack is a backward step. My 1741+ battery life was never an issue whereas the forums give a lot of negative comments on the battery and its battery life.... and obviously, the £1600 it costs to buy the X1! Thanks for the video though chaps.... can you keep it or do Megger want it back? 😜

    It's nice, but if you are going to splash that kind of money, the Metrel 3155 eurotester is still the Rolls-Royce of MFT's it really has it all. And it all works beautifully.

    • @asawyer2872
      @asawyer2872 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not in the same price range really. I just paid ~ £1480 for the X1, I'd have been looking at ~ £2200 for Metrel. Paying 50% again on top of the Megger!
      Don't get me wrong, I'd love the Metrel and I'm sure it's the nuts, but it isn't comparable value by any stretch.

    • @stiaankruger2699
      @stiaankruger2699 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @asawyer2872 The Metrel really is worth the extra money it changed the way i work and has saved me many hours, i have tested with a friends X1, and it's a very good tester no doubt, the problem is apart from appearance and a few new things it is very much like the older megger MFT's. The real question should not be if the metrel 3155 is worth the extra money over the X1, the real question should be, is the X1 really worth the extra money over its older brothers? And to be honest, i dont think it is since you will still be testing in the same way, and it will take the same time and to use the autofill feature it still needs a support device, so you might as well enter it into Excel running on a tablet with a premade template useing the older MFT.

    • @asawyer2872
      @asawyer2872 ปีที่แล้ว

      @stiaankruger2699 Tbh thanks to black friday the difference in cost between a 1741+ and the X1 was negligible. Odds are it won't, but if one day the user upgradable software might save me buying a new tester, then that difference has paid for itself 10 times over.
      I've no doubt the Metrel makes things easier, but that £700 difference has bought my safe isolation kit, a clamp meter and a few hand tools.
      If I had £2200 just for a tester I'd happily have gone for the metrel, but that is too rich for my tastes. It just isn't in the same price range by some margin!

      @@stiaankruger2699 Spot on here mate, in my opinion metrel did it first. if they get the price right they will be flying

    • @stiaankruger2699
      @stiaankruger2699 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@KayElectrics someone also pointed out to me that i should not compare the X1 to the 3155 but rather to the 3152 eurotester if one then compare the price the metrel 3152 is much more competitive, it has less features than the 3155 but is on par with the X1 and in ways exeeds the it.
      I have not used the 3152 myself just the 3155 and the X1 but seeing videos of it the basic operation works exactly like 3155.
