thanks for showing this video most people who are not computer based like myself need to do research before attempting computer stuff . my 2 questions are if you have 3 hardrives connected how do you know which order they are plugged in the sata ports from computer screen? and which drive boots up the computer at start up? cheers
On a modern UFEI BIOS, it will detect which one is boot-able and boom from it. On older machines, it is best to hook the OS drive the lowest # SATA port.
@@TheNerdIsIn the problem i'm having is on start up saying no boot drive detected .then i push the power button and it starts up again and loads normally . the 1 thing i have noticed is all 3 SATA SMART harddrives says CAPABLE BUT DISABLED when loading . what does that mean? cheers
I do wish the modular power supply makers would stop putting three SATA plugs on each cable - it makes it hard to connect up. I'd like to see three cables supplied with only one SATA plug on ecah one. Short, Medium and Long in length. That way we could keep our computers nice and tidy.
Hey nice video. I'm thinking of buying a sata power splitter to my pc and I'm not sure if buying any splitter from Amazon would do the job or should I buy a specific one so that I won't burn my hard drives. Any advice? :)
If you are talking about a cable that takes one SATA power connector to two, it would be a passive electrical cable and should be fine. Just buy one with good reviews and quality.
hi and thank you for your video, my question is: can a sata power cable be too tight? mine wont fit in my ssd(im 100% sure it is the right cable and correct position) i had another sata cable plugged in my ssd and it worked just fine but i noticed the connector is deformed like it was too tight and has been stretched. any solution?
Connector on the cable - just get a new cable. Connector on the Hard drive? Hmmm, may have to force it on or see if them manufacturer has it under warrantee. If you absolutely cannot get it to connect, you will have to find a data recovery service.
