This was the most straight forward, very clear, easy to understand video I’ve seen on here. I’ve been looking for two weeks for a video like this. Thank you.
Appreciate the comment I’m glad to help you out. What cars are you working on? What cars would you like to see in the channel? And are you a full-time mechanic?
Man I’m working on a tricky one. It a 2013 Vw Jetta hybrid 1.4L tsi. It’s a bit harder to get to the water pump cause where the battery is on the Jetta in this video the hybrid engine is there the 12v battery is in the trunk.
@@GremcoGarage oh and no I’m not a full time mechanic but this is the second car I’ve worked on and didn’t realize how much I really love working on cars until I had to out of necessity. Now I’m looking to make a career change. Honestly.
Yeah what he’s said, this video get straight to the point step by step!!
Just by the tools alone your Majesty everything is beyond perfect tion THANK you
Great video, I followed your steps to change my wife’s water pump. +1 for hearing letterkenny in the background.
Does the belt need a specific tension ? And do I need to pressure fill my system or is that optional
Hi Great video Thanks - My 2017 Jetta 1.4 47k miles seems to take forever to warm up but once up to temp it holds steady even if below freezing outside. Do you think the thermostat should be replaced. Can this be replaced on its own or do you need to do the whole waterpump thermostat housing. I don't see any leaks I assume most of the steps will be the same for the thermostat. Thanks
It's totally normal to take awhile to warm up because it's such a small engine. Mine does the same thing. you just need to drive it as soon as the initial RPMs drop down after about 30 seconds. It's going to take forever to warm it up through idling and is really bad for the engine to warm up that way. Just start driving and keep it under 3k RPMs until you're up to operating temp.
Factory instructions say to tension the belt, but you didn't do it?
Now I feel at least semi confident to get this job done ✔️
Thanks for the comment what other cars are you working on and what cars would you like to see on the channel?
@@GremcoGarage this is my exact car except black and the manual model, at 110k and an absolutely amazing car couldn't recommend it enough. Spark plugs, coil packs, brakes, wheel hub and suspension upgrade are some videos I would definitely like to see on my model !
What size is the Allen to tigthening the belt? Also how Many NM? Thanks
Hey can your remove the thermostat without taking the housing off
What kind of hose clamp tool did you use?
How much does this job for water pump cost?
Love the content!
Thanks for the comment what cars are you working on and what colors would you like to see on the channel
Why did you need to change the water pump?
is there any timing mark on exhaust belt
😂😂😂😂 greatest job 😅😅😅😅😅
Question, i just bought one from auction and on the dash cluster the temp is not registering and also i noticed the hose were not hot is that a thermostat and pump issue?
I have changed the coolant temp sensor but i dont think that is what shows at thw cluster!
Thanks for you insight ahead of time!
Also i noticed you connected a plug right there does the pump have a eletrical connector or was the for something else? Thanks
Again great video, what actually is responsible for displaying the temp at the dash cluster?
Is there two temp sensors for this car? One at the radiator and one near the pump?
At 9:10 in the video what is that connector?
Thanks and sorry for the questions, just trying to figure it out.
There’s a small sensor that threads into the battery side of the cylinder head under the coolant flange. Sorry for delay
@@GremcoGarage you would not have an image of that would you!? Thanks for the response.
Why wouldn't you replace the belt why you have all that out?
You didn't replace the belt!!! Why??? I'm a vw tech and the belt is a must.
