@@qylerpd8048 I'm a UP grad (BS Economics). And, only very recently, I became an alumnus of Columbia University. It's where I earned my MBA, at CBS, NY. And, quite honestly, I don't think I would have gotten into CBS if I hadn't have a UP undergrad degree. UP is a fantastic school. It will put you in good stead. So, aim for it. Joslin didn't make a mistake when she chose UP over those schools where she also have been admitted to or gotten offers from. She's gonna go places the moment she graduates from UP. :)

I chose Biology as my first choice since a really want to be a Doctor in the future but i'm worried that I'm still lacking in some subject especially in Mathematics... I was never good in Math to be honest that is why i feel terrified knowing that the exam will have Math.. I just hope that i can pass the exam so that i can fulfill my dreams.. Plsss wish me luck... Passed the Big 4 a few years ago, and now I’m about to graduate in 4 months as a Lasallian accounting student. Honestly, you might get the upper hand if you’re from a Science HS, because when I attended an expensive review school in Katipunan I realized that there wasn’t anything new to learn (except for Math, I learned a lot of techniques there). It’s a review school, so technically it’s supposed to be a review of everything you learned so far, but my peers were like “oh I didn’t know that” a lot of times, and I’m just like “do you not listen in class?” The 16K didn’t feel worth it, in my opinion. If you have an older sibling who attended a review school before, you can use their materials for self-study. Here’s a tip: apply for a course that you are really interested in. I had friends who applied for UP and didn’t pass even though they were part of my batch’s top 10, but some of my classmates who didn’t really do well academically still passed. So for anyone out there who lacks confidence just because you aren’t part of the top ranks, you still have a shot, I promise you.
I took Upcat way back in 2000, I didn’t passed but my average grade was higher than my classmates who passed it. I choose computer science course which is a quota course and UP Diliman as the campus. My classmates choose Forestry in UPLB. Our valedictorian also didn’t passed. He tried the following yr. Although the letter said that i can transfer on 2nd sem provided my gwa is 2.0. I regretted that I didn’t transfer. No one advices me the pros of studying in UP. But then again, everything happens for a reason. Life is full of surprises. It’s a long road. Don’t give up easily. Financial success is just a bonus. The state of ur heart and mind are the things that matter🤗
Hi ! My UPCAT is in 6 days (im Sunday Afternoon) and im watching this at 12am after the most stressful review session earlier. I’d just like to say THANK YOU for helping relieve some of the stress and anxiousness thru learning your experience. Aside from reviewing, I’ve been compiling UPCAT experiences from my friends in UPD rn and it really makes me excited and scared for my own experience soon at the same time. My parents made me go “UP or nothing” and this mindset has been making me nervous and tense for the test HAHA. I only applied for UP and Ateneo (I’m from Ateneo High School ! 💙) and it scares me that I kind of can’t imagine myself in college anywhere else aside from UP. Thank you so much it means a lot to have a tips video like this ! I’ll be sure to update you how it’ll go in a few days (and hopefully the results in a few months time :)) )

Ive seen in so many students also. Case to case basis yan. Depends on the individual. Kung meron k talagang pangarap sa buhay. Kahit na makapasa kpa sa mga bigating school or universities kung wala kng goal na tuloy tuloy mo na ang pagiging successful walang mangyayari sayo. Ive seen so many individuals na kahit hindi nkatapak ng mga bigating unibersidad naging succesful nakapagpatayo ng mga dream house nila for them and for their families. Nakapag tayo ng mga negosyo kahit high school grad sila. Talagang depende sa tao ang lahat. Lakas ng loob, diskarte at determinasyon na maging succesful.
UPCAT is fast approaching and I'm still focusing on one subject 😭 I should work more on science especially in math since it's my weakness. I hope engaging into review centers would help me widen my knowledge. I think I badly need it.

I never knew that reviewing for college entrance exams is a thing. I didn't review before taking my entrance exam because I don't know what the topics will be about soooo I took the exam unprepared. I mean not entirely unprepared because I prayed. 😂

I wish I knew these tips back in 2011 when I was taking entrance exams for 4 of those universities. I only passed one and went on to study there even though it wasn't my first choice.
i really get motivated to go on with my academic life by watching ur videos despite of getting bombarded with soooo much tasks every day. I’m an eighth grader and the pressure my family and even I am drowning myself into is something I find difficult to face in a daily basis :(( i always dreamt of going and passing into UP or UST at least and the anxiety I carry everyday isn’t enough to be put into words 😔 i hope i can do well like u in the future and make my mom proud, she deserves an ideal daughter and I always ought to become one 😟
don't worry :) there are also many "rich" people who don't get into UP despite going to review centers. Try making study groups and timing yourself. look through old notes as well.
I've got my eyes set on UP and I am still in the 10th Grade going SHS Student. I guess the two-year study time allotment is kinda brilliant. I wish I would have started reviewing since I was born. LOL

hmmm okay pero some are the same 1. UP (nakakapagod kasi) + Ateneo (time + life pressure) 2. DLSU (unorganized questions) 3. UST, CSB, UA&P (because I already passed UP and ateneo by this point)

It's nice watching vlogs like this bcos people like me whose family is under filipino culture na it's dangerous in manila, never get to experience taking big universities' cets :(( UP is my 2nd dream Univ, but elders would always say not to go for UP for it's known for activists :(( UST is my 1st, but tuition is below our capability :(( In my 3rd year or 2nd year in college, I hope I can transfer to UST!! I'm in G12 public NHS btw!
Lol, activism is not atheism (or some antichrist mvmt), maybe you should read (prolly open your eyes for the national issues) more and realize that. And if it still doesnt change your mind, UP is not for you.
I graduated from UP twice already. I have never joined any rallies but I have my own stand on national issues. If that is how you and your family think, then UP is not really for you because you don't deserve it.

Hi. Tip lang po sa mga gustong pumasa, remain calm and learn to be efficient in an overly-pressured situations. I actually think that I'll pass acet but sadly I didn't since na wrong numbering po ako huhu. It was quite easy for me but I didn't notice on the English part that I started answering #8 sa #9 and to think na 100 items yung test. I noticed it lang when I was in #100 and I didn't have any spaces na (I know I'm stupid af). I'm giving you this advice kasi I don't want u to experience this kind of situation (sakit bes). Dream school ko po ang Ateneo but unfortunately di binigay ni God sa'kin. I come from an Ateneo School and I was kind of familiar to their types of tests so it was really heartbreaking for me. Also, the time pressure hit me real hard since yeah sa pagmamadali, yung numbering ko namali rin. Still, I'm still grateful for having the opportunity to take the exam hehe. This helps me not get stressed out a lot! I'm from St. Paul Manila, (just beside UP Manila) and seeing UP everyday gets me motivated. Going to take the upcat tomorrow so thank god i watched this! 🙏
I was only choosing between UP and Ateneo, and I chose UP. I think most students who have the privilege to choose between the two would always choose UP, unless you were not admitted into your first-choice campus or first-choice program at UP Diliman or UP Manila. But I recon almost everyone would choose to go for UP. It's UP -- the best school in the country.
I heard it's right minus wrong in upcat probably quarter of the point ALSO MY TIP is make sure you don't procrastinate during your pre exam days, study well!

Hi! Most (if not all) school require an entrance exam kasi. For UP, you have to pass the UPCAT, but for other schools, may iba silang exams and requirements. Maybe you can enrol in another school next year :) or take the entrance exam next year. Make sure to research all the requirements sa school na gusto mo.

I think that the reason this is likely is because matatalino ang mga students sa sci highschools so nakalatag na na magaling pag galing dun...and siyempre, magagaling ang mga mas likely na makakapasa sa univs na choosy haha. Usually sa grades sila tumitingin.

Ive seen in so many students also. Case to case basis yan. Depends on the individual. Kung meron k talagang pangarap sa buhay. Kahit na makapasa kpa sa mga bigating school or universities kung wala kng goal na tuloy tuloy mo na ang pagiging successful walang mangyayari sayo. Ive seen so many individuals na kahit hindi nkatapak ng mga bigating unibersidad naging succesful nakapagpatayo ng mga dream house nila for them and for their families. Nakapag tayo ng mga negosyo kahit high school grad sila. Talagang depende sa tao ang lahat. Lakas ng loob, diskarte at determinasyon na maging succesful.
UPCAT is fast approaching and I'm still focusing on one subject 😭 I should work more on science especially in math since it's my weakness. I hope engaging into review centers would help me widen my knowledge. I think I badly need it.

I told myself that i’ll come back to your other UPCAT video before I take the exam kaso hindi ko mahanap so dito na lang hahahah. I never knew that reviewing for college entrance exams is a thing. I didn't review before taking my entrance exam because I don't know what the topics will be about soooo I took the exam unprepared. I mean not entirely unprepared because I prayed. 😂

I wish I knew these tips back in 2011 when I was taking entrance exams for 4 of those universities. I only passed one and went on to study there even though it wasn't my first choice.
i really get motivated to go on with my academic life by watching ur videos despite of getting bombarded with soooo much tasks every day. I’m an eighth grader and the pressure my family and even I am drowning myself into is something I find difficult to face in a daily basis :(( i always dreamt of going and passing into UP or UST at least and the anxiety I carry everyday isn’t enough to be put into words 😔 i hope i can do well like u in the future and make my mom proud, she deserves an ideal daughter and I always ought to become one 😟

My UP undergrad degree served as my springboard to Stanford GSB. If you get into UP, pack your things and go! It's an amazing school.

don't worry :) there are also many "rich" people who don't get into UP despite going to review centers. Try making study groups and timing yourself. look through old notes as well.

1. UP (nakakapagod kasi) + Ateneo (time + life pressure)
2. DLSU (unorganized questions)
3. UST, CSB, UA&P (because I already passed UP and ateneo by this point)

It's nice watching vlogs like this bcos people like me whose family is under filipino culture na it's dangerous in manila, never get to experience taking big universities' cets :(( UP is my 2nd dream Univ, but elders would always say not to go for UP for it's known for activists :(( UST is my 1st, but tuition is below our capability :((

1:45 before taking the exams
- apply
- join review classes the summer before the cets or practice sample exams
- time yourself
- eat healthy (esp brain foods)
- sleep well
3:24 2 days before the exam: no studying, do recreational activities
3:48 exam day
- eat a healthy breakfast
- wear something comfy thats suitable for cold and hot settings
- bring all your reqs (prepare them the day before the exam din)
- listen to instructor, wag unahan
- put phone on silent, or turn it off
- dont stress too much bc your brain wont function properly hence you'll forget what you've studied
- calculate time per number
- bring a watch
- read the q's carefully
- skip hard q's, go back to it after you finished to save time
- answer everything, make an educated guess if you rlly dont know
- use the break, let your brain rest
- bring healthy snacks
- double check answers
- be respectful

Hi. Tip lang po sa mga gustong pumasa, remain calm and learn to be efficient in an overly-pressured situations. I actually think that I'll pass acet but sadly I didn't since na wrong numbering po ako huhu. It was quite easy for me but I didn't notice on the English part that I started answering #8 sa #9 and to think na 100 items yung test. I noticed it lang when I was in #100 and I didn't have any spaces na (I know I'm stupid af). I'm giving you this advice kasi I don't want u to experience this kind of situation (sakit bes). Dream school ko po ang Ateneo but unfortunately di binigay ni God sa'kin. I come from an Ateneo School and I was kind of familiar to their types of tests so it was really heartbreaking for me. Also, the time pressure hit me real hard since yeah sa pagmamadali, yung numbering ko namali rin. Still, I'm still grateful for having the opportunity to take the exam hehe. Good luck sa future takers! AMDG 💙

I was only choosing between UP and Ateneo, and I chose UP. I think most students who have the privilege to choose between the two would always choose UP, unless you were not admitted into your first-choice campus or first-choice program at UP Diliman or UP Manila. But I recon almost everyone would choose to go for UP. It's UP -- the best school in the country.

How long did you study for the CETs? And how long did you review daily? Exams are just around the corner ( next weekend to be exact ) but I'm still not confident in taking them :(((
I took a 1 month long review nung summer, tapos group studies when classes started. Other than that, just regular school work.

Di po ako nakakuha ng permit para sa entrance exam. Pwede pa po ba makapagenroll next year? Mga months before june?(kung june po start ng class)
Hi! Most (if not all) school require an entrance exam kasi. For UP, you have to pass the UPCAT, but for other schools, may iba silang exams and requirements. Maybe you can enrol in another school next year :) or take the entrance exam next year. Make sure to research all the requirements sa school na gusto mo.

Is it true that pag galing ka ng sci high nung highschool and SHS malaking chance na makapasa ka sa big universities?
I think that the reason this is likely is because matatalino ang mga students sa sci highschools so nakalatag na na magaling pag galing dun...and siyempre, magagaling ang mga mas likely na makakapasa sa univs na choosy haha. Usually sa grades sila tumitingin.
