So glad you picked this up and enjoyed it so much. I love these books, the team is great and you start to get attached to a lot of them, the science is cool, and the fact he talks about it afterwards and explains some of the science is also great. You can tell he's a science geek!

I have collected many of James Rollins Sigma Force books from thrift stores. Have not read any of them yet. He also writes under the pseudonym James Clemens for his Banned and Banished fantasy book series. First book is Wit'ch Fire. Check those out, they are wonderful.

A small bit of missing context. They are named Sigma Force because Sigma is supposed to signify "the sum of all man" later on in the series the joke of DARPA is that they are "killer scientists".

Very cool. Now I have to read James Rollins. This is the kind of plots I like. Happy New year.

Nice review. I think I can read it in about 14 hours, so it’s more like a 400 page book (the hardcover at the library is 443 pages). Page numbers are publishing lies. Beware the rectangle paperbacks. Weird that book 2 Map of Bones has more ratings on Goodreads than book 1.

Brian, my boyfriend and I finished The Dragonbone Chair. OMG. We cannot wait to read the second book in the trilogy. Thank you again for the recommendation!!

I’m glad you liked the book. I’m slowly collecting the Kindle editions, but haven’t read any yet, so it’s good to hear that it’s a series worth collecting. (BTW aside from the influences noted in your review, the Sigma Force also sounded a bit like the crew that Doc Savage surrounded himself with on his adventures.)

Called Sigma Force because Sigma means the sum of all things.

Great video! I remember not really liking the book that much when I read it years ago, but perhaps I will give it another shot. And I don't know if this makes this worse or better, but the paperback version I have (had - not quite sure where it is) is the standard mass market PB size. So, if I remember correctly, less orange space. But that means they didn't even bother to change the cover at all when moving the size you have, that elongated size that is clearly the work of Satan. Apparently, cover design is the responsibility of Beta Force.

Love the SIgma Force novels! Agree - hate the elongated paperbacks.

I heard the plot of the next one is Sigma Force vs. that blank orange space. They will take it out for you.

The premise of this series kind of reminds me of the Joe Ledger series by Jonathan Maberry. Incredible books.
