PLEASE DO NOT USE SCULPEY 111 IF YOU ARE MAKING JEWELLERY AS IT’S VERY BRITTLE IT’S BEST TO USE SCULPEY PREMO,SCULPEY SOUFFLÉ OR CERNIT THEY ARE THE BEST POLYMER CLAYS TO USE 💕💕💕OH AND A LITTLE POWDER GOES ALONG WAY 😆🤣😂😆🤣😂IT’S ALWAYS BEST TO SEAL YOUR CLAY IF YOU USE PIGMENT POWDERS 💕💕💕💕
These look fab! One great tip I picked up from Back to Earth Creations You Tube channel is to place cling film over the clay before cutting because it slightly rounds off the top edge and makes it look smoother. That channel is definitely worth checking out because she makes the most amazing polymer clay stuff. I've only dabbled a bit with it, but I have loads of colours here waiting for me to make pendants!
For the powders not to rub off you can mix with acrylic medium and paint on. Even after the baking. But yes chameleon powders really need a matte black behind them to really pop
@@ClairesCraftyCorner oh have fun with it. I haven't worked with polymer clay before and don't know if there is a big difference between white and coloured clay... There is always the option of using white and using black paint or spray paint to still create the effect and use the clay you already have. Love watching your videos!!
Oh Claire the imprinted ones look like fossils 😍😍 the chameleon powders are insane the colours are so pigmented absolutely stunning and so glad you had a chill therapeutic play too 🥰🥰 sculpey will alway be my favourite the texture is just so soft and easy to mould thanks for sharing babes ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Very nice! You can save hard clay. Chop up the hard clay into small pieces. Put it in a container-I use plastic baggies, add some clay softener and seal the bag. Then massage the softener in by smushing the plastic bag until the softener is mixed in with the bits of clay. Leave it for a couple of days and you should have softer clay that you can knead and then roll out. It’s best to use firmer clay, like the Arteza or Sculpy Premo for your projects. I have been about to use clay that is at least 10 years old. Have fun!
The amonite was an excellent idea, it shows off the chameleon effect very well. The uv top coat gives an extra dimension to all of them. Fun fact: I did have soup for dinner but I still didn't cry! You did far better than when I first started with polymer clay ages ago.
These turn out beautiful as you say the black enhances the colours much better, I have never found UV resin works for me either, maybe need practice more, look forward to more of these on polymer xx🥰
Thank yoooo Vivienne xx oh this one definitely worked foe me .. so much easier than the ones I've had before foe sure! I am totally going to do more .. need to practice and get better xx ❤️❤️
I do polymer clay and yes mica powders are used a lot especially on the black clay. Never use Sculpey 111 for anything that you are going to wear. Good work for having a go.
Just beautiful ! I have received my chameleon powders yesterday but in France I can just have 4 colors 😒 I am not polymer clay expert but your experiment give me ideas (again 😁).
I have those powders. Galaxy and the gold are my favorites. I just use my finger from the get-go, and it seems to make it shiner than using the brush. I used to work with clay a million years ago, but it didn't do it for so I quit working with it for a long time. I started using uv resin a few years ago, and after the first year, I was not really feeling inspired that much by it as well. It wasn't until I started combining clay and resin that my heart started to flutter again. 😂 Having all the current tools helps tremendously as well. Love your work. Beautiful. 🎉
Lovely! And, yes, you can save the hard, crumbly polymer clay. It will be a lot of work without a clay rolling machine though. Of course, I find the whole clay conditioning process to be very relaxing, and I don’t mind the extra work. Fiona Abel-Smith has a nice video about conditioning polymer clay on her channel. I think it’s in her basics playlist. I can’t wait to see what polymer clay projects you come up with next. ✌🏼💜🛼
Thank you so kuch Beckie .. I will totally check her out .. 100% feel like I would need a rolling machine they really hurt my hands lol maybe I'm just weak but it's a new kind of muscle use 🤣
These are great! I have tried to use polymer clays, and UV resin. I am not a fan really of both. I was left feeling "meh" when I had a go with them. Maybe I will try again at a later date. Just wanted to say that your experiment looked great 👍🏻
**NEWS** AMAZON AUSTRALIA LINKS will now be listed in my description box. I do not yet have an Australian storefront so all links are individually listed. Please note, If my Australian Amazon links are not used I will lose the account and have to reapply to link products. No pressure from me to buy .... ha ha just letting you all know I will do my best to link everything I can.
You can use chameleon paint on pre-baked clay let dry and the seal with resin or another sealer agreeable to clay. I bake then paint often with these paints
Oh you crammed a lot in this video girl lol maybe you could take a small piece of the black clay and mix some mica in to it? do you think that would work? would probably dry it out but might be worth a try? I used to craft with polymer clay and gave it up because the tiny details used to get to me lol the slightest fingermark shows lol great video as always hun and more editing techniques on show 😀
Ohhhhh yes I tried that .. it does blend nicely but nothing spectacular .. still needs a top coat lol yesssssss spending longer editing now than filming 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
You must have making reach. Four out of five items I have tried to buy after watching one of you videos has been out of stock with no idea of when it will be available. Maybe you should warn these companies when you are going to feature their products so they can stock up first. Lol. Also would it be possible for you to link to Canadian sites as well as USA and UK? We do have more than 35 million people in Canada but we often miss out on these things. Love, love, love those ammonites !
Yes, it was a tiny bit cringe for anyone who knows how to deal with polymer clay, lol. That said, it's not as terrible as it could have been. 😅 I do think you missed an opportunity though. When you stamped the clay and exposed the raw black clay under the pigment powder you could have brushed a different color over that part. Might have given you a really cool effect! Try it! 👍 Edit: BTW, the Premo line and Souffle line of clay from Sculpey are probably your best bet due to the strength VS softness factor. When baking the clays they have different finish textures. Souffle has a more suede-like finish while Premo is more smooth. One thing you need to remember about polymer clay is that they can be mixed together! Yes, even across brands. Bake at the lowest recommended temperature for as long as you want (longest amount of time listed is now the minimum when mixing brands) because as long as your oven is at the correct temperature it shouldn't burn. As for softening your old clay, they do sell special clay softeners to help with that but liquid polymer clay would work similarly if a bit more messy. Even chopping up the old clay and tossing with a few drops of mineral oil before attempting to condition the clay works (but be careful of the amount with the oil, liquid clay is actually a better option but this works In a pinch). Personally, I actually bought a cheap electric mini food processor/chopper (a tiny thing) to help me deal with Fimo clay because it's notorious for being almost impossible to deal with once it gets old but it's also one of, if not the strongest polymer clay out there so it's still the best for certain projects, especially when you need really thin parts. Hope that helps!

Place hardened clay in zip lock bag and add a few drops of baby oil. Close bag and work with fingers 1to blend. It will soften but takes time.
Ohhh that's really helpful thank yoooo ❤️
