Thank you for making this video. I got an FX30 for Christmas & I've been asking myself all day which lens to get, then somehow ended up in a rabbit hole about cages for the extra accessories. Had no idea what a Hawklock was, but your vid cleared it up and helped me with my decision. Thanks again!
Thank you! I use my rig without a gimbal about 90% of the time. For most my work I dont need a gimbal and can achieve smooth shots handheld. But if im doing a real estate shoot or a car shoot I always use my gimbal. Im often filming on a boat or on the beach so I go handheld on boat since I can sit and the ride is smooth and fluid head tripod on the beach.
@@calebenson2543 depends on the event. If its like a high energy, dancing, fun event with very limited space I would go handheld (the camera shake actually adds excitement to the footage). But if its a corporate event, or a car show, I would go gimbal. For that slower pace feel and beautiful shots of the cars and surroundings. There's no exact right answer here. When I first got a gimbal I thought I was going to use it all the time. After years of doing this I probably use it 5% of the time.
You don't know how long it took me to find this video... my new camera cage (Neewer for ZV E1) has the Arca Swiss plate too. What do I need if I want to use it with my current old K&F Concept tripod?
Great question! It is not proprietary to the hawklock system. NATO rails, cold shoes, all that, will still work with standard NATO and cold shoes. Yet another reason its a phenomenal cage
Hey Conner! I really enjoyed the video! For my setup, I use the Sony A7SIII, which pairs perfectly with a lightweight rig for a run-and-gun style. I’ve found that the **Tiltaing Hybrid Cage** is fantastic because it’s super lightweight and modular, making it easy to adjust on the fly. It really helps when I’m filming in tight spaces, giving me that flexibility I need. Alongside that, I use the **Zacuto Grid Cage** for added stability. It locks in securely and reduces any wobble during those dynamic shots, which is crucial when I’m on the move. The **Atomos Ninja V** monitor is a game changer, too. It delivers 4K HDR, allowing me to ensure my focus and composition are spot-on, especially during longer takes. For audio, my go-to is the **Sennheiser MKE 600**. It’s compact and captures great sound while minimizing background noise. And when I need to adjust lighting or rig positioning, the **Manfrotto Magic Arm** is my best friend! It offers incredible flexibility and quick release, helping me streamline my setup in a hurry. This gear not only keeps the overall weight down but also enhances my efficiency and creativity during shoots. It’s perfect for making quick adjustments while maintaining the quality I strive for. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts! Keep up the amazing work! And you killed this video btw!!!!
@@ConnerJohn Haha, right? I’ve been working on getting my "super lightweight imaginary setup" to perfection! Just waiting for it to magically appear in my gear closet. 😂 But seriously, your content is what inspires me to keep dreaming big! Thanks for the motivation, dude! Keep rocking it!

Thanks for the informative video. I am considering buying the kit and don't know which counterpart to order for the HawkLock mounts. There are different ones. Can you give me a link which one is the right one. Thank you very much and Merry Christmas

@@JosephMartin right?!?? It’s a game changer. I never used side handles. Tried them and didn’t like them. But this one changed that big time
Love the video, keep going 💪🏼
Thank you 🙌
can the top handle and side handle be use with nato rail if there is no hawklock?
Thanks for the video man!
Happy to help dude!!!
How is the Hawklock compared to the Black Mamba?
Great video! When would you use this compared to a gimbal?

Gotcha! For events, would you prefer a gimbal or handheld you think?

As long as its arca swiss it should mount to the ball head no problem!
i can't find the cold shoe hawklock monitor mount, where can i get that?
It came with the full bundle for me!
Will the female NATO clamp attach to a regular NATO rail, or does it need to be the smallrig hawklock-specific NATO rail with the groves?

for my sony A1 I use the cage made by Falcam .
I’ve heard good things about falcam! Do you have their quick release system?
