Api-key is the server-key of firebase cloud messaging.
Select your project-> click on settings icon & select project settings-> select Cloud Messaging tab and get the server key from there

Just wanted to let you know when you set up the dependency it updated the project with the deprecated implementation 'com.google.firebase:firebase-messaging:20.1.0' while you use the implementation 'com.google.firebase:firebase-messaging:21.0.1', this causes a problem for the "FirebaseMessaging.getInstance().getToken().addOnCompleteListener" in the getToken() function, and it states that it is an unknown reference. Thanks for your help.
Thanks a lot bro. The notification was working, when I changed the _minSdkVersion_ from *24* to *21* , The notification is not coming.

For dynamic Notification, you have to create trigger event in firebase like onCreate, onUpdate. Or you can make an admin panel where admin can send the notification based on topics or by groups. If you want to see tutorial about that then let me know. 🙂

Its use to send the push notifications based on device id. I use the scripts because it's more practical toward the real world as we do use apis.

Let's consider we have created an e-learning app where there are two roles, one is teacher and another is student. So what client expect that whenever the homework posted by teacher, it should be notify to students. In that case we required an api. Where we perform a task to gather students data from web database and send the notifications accordingly.
If you still dont understand then it's ok.. you will get an experience it with one. 😀
