I’m a nurse and live in a mask and the elf cc cream, putty bronzer and putty blushes are the only products that don’t transfer onto my mask and still look good at the end of a long shift.
The elf camo cc cream is so funny to me because I was at Walgreens with my cousin and she bought it. We were getting ready in the car and she put it on and it looked absolutely terrible! So I tried it and it looked so beautiful and smooth on me! Crazy how that works
The elf camo cc cream did not work to help heavy and makeup-y and I had a problem with the niacinamide in it as I already use a product with niacinamide. I would say that if a person has sensitive skin avoid using more than one product with niacinamide.
omg this is my third time seeing milk’s hydrogrip eye primer on the worst makeup list! i think both angelica nyqvist and hannah from smokey glow mentioned it O.o
I love hearing the good AND the bad! Some products are going to work for specific skin types, makeup preferences, skin tones, etc. We need these videos as consumers (or makeup lovers who buy way to much aka me) to be aware when we buy products. Thank you for doing this! It is very much appreciated :)
Not anything against your makeup recommendations or not recommended products, but the main thing I took from this video is I need to get Trader Joe’s chai concentrate. That sounds right up my alley. If you like glittery products on your eyes, I’d try the Danessa Myricks color fix in Milky Way. It’s great for an easy to use, budge-proof glittery eye.
That ELF CC cream was the worst! I almost never throw away makeup, but that stuff aged me 20 years the moment I put it on, and then continued to get worse throughout the day. I’m not sure how other people made it work - so many rave reviews!
15:51 I think it would be so interesting watching one of your chatty videos talking about this star/rating systems in the beauty webs, like are they useful? are they fake? can we trust a product based on it rate? also if you have some anecdote/experience about the topic :)
I agree 100% with you on the Elf CC cream. It was so heavy, that I couldn't wait to wash it off. Funny, I just used the Putty Bronzer today. It's been awhile. And now I remember why I stopped using it. Zero staying power. And I have dry skin. Thanks Kelly. 😊
The Butter London powder. I had almost forgot about, but when you first started talking about it i had to giggle. That powder looked awful!!! It was sooooo shimmery.
I own the Nyx brow glue and yes, my brow drop down as well. Currently working my way through the Catrice one and it... sucks as well. The only thing that keeps my brows decently in shape without any white residue is the got2be glue. No kidding.
The Elf Camo CC cream ONLY looks good applied with fingers. I tried it with a brush and sponge and it was horrible. I tried it with my fingers and it looked SO GOOD!
I was SHOOK when I first watched that elf bronzer disappear from your cheeks???! How odd! I skipped over the elf CC cream because of the strong yellow undertones (I am light with olive undertones, but can use neutral as well) and happy I did after seeing the terrible reviews
I don’t like the ELF under eye primer either but if you haven’t tried the Jaclyn Cosmetics one that product is amazing! Literally can’t apply concealer without it now 🥰
I tried a lot of different face creams this year and a Derma E one I got that was marked as fragrance free smelled disgustingly of lavender (which is a smell I despise on a good day) Had to wash it off instantly. Ended up using it up by using it as a foot cream lol. My feet were very nice n soft, and i used the cream up in a month. New way of using up anything moisturizing that doesn't work on my face? Put it on the feet.
I do that, too. 😂 When The Ordinary's NMF cream just wasn't hydrating enough for my face, I started using it on my feet. I still don't love it, but I don't hate it anymore, and I'm determined to use it up.
Exactly how you described the Elf camo cc cream is how it was for me. I tried to mix it with other products to thin it out, tried to apply a number of different ways but it didn't matter. It always looked way too heavy, cakey and drying on the skin.
For my combo skin, I steer clear from cc creams. They clog my pores and look and feel heavy. I did not like the IT cosmetics so I saved myself the aggravation of getting the elf one. Get a real foundation if you want coverage without the cakiness.
Haha the Danessa Myricks calm contour is my actual holy grail. I've never loved a bronzer product more and the undertone is a beautiful unique olive. It blends our super easy too.
I actually love the elf cc cream. I only use about half a pump, though, and blend it out over a still damp face. So weird how divisive that product is!

You’re probably my favorite beauty TH-camr currently 😊 Your videos are just so informative, you’re well spoken, cruelty free, have the best fun makeup looks, seem like a kind person, what more could a viewer want! Keep being the best and take care! Greetings from Slovenia, Europe❤️
Elf used to have a bronzer and blush "aqua" duo which was like a putty mousse texture and they should just bring that back. Such a good texture and they sold it before creams were the "it" thing for brands to bring out
I love the formula of Danessa Myricks power bronzer cream bronzer sooo much but the colors ......just 3 shades.I hope she is coming out with more colors.
I’m surprised you didn’t mention the Jcat Aquasurance powder foundation. I think it’s because it was so bad that your mind blocked you from remembering it lol happy vlogmas!🤗
@@KellyGooch it happens girl! I’ve seen great reviews on it but it also looked horribly on me! I tried it because Taylor Wynn loved it & she has dry skin & normally her recommendations work for me but not this one 🙅🏻♀️ I ended up giving it to a friend who has super oily skin & she loved it!
@@laurenwhitaker17 it’s VERY drying & on Kelly it really makes her skin look like it’s somebody else. Super drying & flaky & to me it also clung to every dry area & in the summer I’m not even that dry but it was horrible. Unless you have oily skin I wouldn’t recommend.😅
I recently got the ELF putty bronzer and I agree. There is literally no pigment. Even for that affordable price tag, it was a waste of money. I'm really confused why people enjoy this...
The only way I can get that nyx brow glue to work, is if I apply the product to my brows, and take a separate spoolie and brush it through, and then take my finger and push it to my face. It’s so many more extra steps than I would want
I have the putty blush and the cool toned fair shade of the putty bronzer, and I really love both. You really have to layer up the bronzer, but the edges blend out so seamlessly. It isn't really heavy enough to show up on camera, but for everyday no-makeup makeup, it is perfect. I tend to use a powder blush and contour powder to set it, so maybe that is why I have decent longevity from those products. I have had some crappy powder blushes, and it is usually because they are too patchy and not blendable. I am fair, and I also love a ton of blush, so I tend to love a deeper shade of blush but I need it to be blendable! My worst fail this year was probably the makeup Revolution conceal and hydrate. I did choose a shade that was too light because their shade range is incredible, but it was not hydrating. It was stark and chalky and didn't blend out well. After that, it was most of the things I tried from Ofra. I like their liquid lipsticks, but everything else is okay at best, and not worth using knowing the politics of their founder. Oh, I also tried a product that was supposed to be a glowy bronzer and the picture of the shade I chose looked like it was supposed to be a light gold, and when it came, it was straight orange. I saved it to do a shimmery jack o lantern for Halloween makeup, that's how orange it was. There was also an ULTA palette that was pinky neutrals where the shimmers were nice, but the sparkly topper shades, the glitter mattes, and the mattes were trash. I couldn't make it work, no matter how hard I tried. I have thankfully figured out my favorite base products for the most part, so I didn't really try a lot of new this year, mostly eyeshadow and lipsticks. And most of the things I tried, I loved. Just those few that were awful.
Hard candy used to have a good eye primer in a tube that’s is gripping and clear. I think it came in a white tube, but I’m not sure if it’s still around. They don’t carry a ton of Hard Candy at my Walmart, and I really haven’t checked in awhile, but it was pretty good. I do need to cover my veins too. I use the Elf putty eye primer in the shade Rose, it’s so so good, and doesn’t disappear
Set it or put down shadow quickly tho, it sets down and want to budge so if it creases a little it’s not fun to tap back out. It stays all day tho and doesn’t crease or fade if I just apply my transition shade right away.
Lol that Butter London powder sounds like the newer Laura Mercier glowy setting powder. It’s like straight up highlighter. But it’s supposed to be for setting your face? Luckily that one isn’t orange though. The shade I got is like white though lol.
My worst beauty purchase of the year was a massive haul I shipped to the UK from Truly Beauty - they of the beautiful rainbow swirl whipped Unicorn Fruit body cream. Every product looks great, smells great, performs poorly. The body cream leaves an oily-sticky film on the skin all day. The hair mask makes your hair really oily. Dreading starting the peppermint lip balm I have left!

Brow gel is not so different from mascara, in that some of what makes it good is the formula and some is the wand. Maybe try using the wand from the NYX gel with a different brow gel you actually like.
