Not sure if you recall but you and I chatted briefly at Summer NAMM. Yeah...this was definitely one of the highlights of an otherwise sadly small Summer NAMM but I was very impressed with JackTrip...I even have the shirt :). This could really be useful for teaching Guitar online which is something I do and that's the biggest drawback to it over in person lessons...Latency. Thanks for doing this video.
It works. On JackTrip I play together with musicians, in the South of France, the North of England, Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands all from my home in the South of France. It is literally "incredible" but it works for real!
@@tubathemastertuba yes you can. if you are on Mac you can use some internal routing/mixing device like BlackHole. On Windows, I simply use a 2nd external audio interface and a mixer and send the mixer out to the audio interface running JackTrip
@@cckailua yes I use Behringer UMC 202 interface, eithernet cable to your router, Sonobus app. ( Sonobus is FREE) and I jam with people globally. Jamkazam is another option but limited on free use.
How do you get the video conferencing in the Virtual Studio session? Also, I am using my audio interface to connect my bass, how do I add an additional audio input, for example my laptop mic for conversation during the session, or do I need to have a mic connected to my audio interface and mix it before sending the signal to Jacktrip?
@@LordsoftheTrident I tried with a different app called jamstudio. It didnt have a thing to connect the daw. So I was wondering if this one might have it.
the review needs to win an oscar
I needed this kinda thing years ago. Well at this point i just need to find new musicians to test this out with and a space i can play in.
I thought you were going to break into a cover of Dana Carvey "Choppin’ Broccoli" during the latency tests, lol

Yup! I remember chatting with you! 😃
Many people don't appreciate the concept of jamming online but I have been trying to do so since years
I think Yamahas Dante protocol may have promise but I’m not an engineer.

The millisecond song is 100% Jack Black on school of rock. I LOVE IT. LETS RECORD A SONG TOGETHER !!!
I love the idea of jacktrip but my friend lives 80 miles away and we couldnt get anything workable in terms of latency. Both have fiber broadband.
Thanks
Did you use it?
Freaking funny! Millisecond song
I’m going back to jacktrip
The said the bridge costs $149...It now costs $249!
That's the digital version. The analog version is also an interface which explains the extra $100
music version of slippy?
Does everyone have to the software or one person can purchase it and invite others? I’m a music director and looking for something safe.
I believe everyone needs the software
500 miles? I live in Hawaii and I'm trying to do this with some bandmates in Europe, 7700 miles away. Is there a way to do this? Thanks everyone

Mic to interface
can you use amp sims with their service?
If you run them through a daw, I’m sure you could!
