I had forgotten about this song. I was so happy to hear this again (thanks to the Professor of Rock Adam Reader). MAN! Vocally you sound like Sam Cooke and that is some of the highest praise from myself (or anyone who knows what a good Soul singer sounds like). Thanks for a sincerely beautiful trip down memory lane. I doubt I will ever forget about this song again.

Love Grayson Hugh's music, especially Talk It Over. Grayson did a cover for a famous movie, Thelma and Louise, might of been where you heard his voice. Now try this song.......it's by The Notting Hillbillies.....Your Own Sweet Way. The sounds they make are amazing, these guys are true musicians and have been in other bands. @@graysonhugh1 Grayson, this song is imprinted with a memory as are many of the songs that I consider truly great. It's so cool how when a song strikes a chord within your soul that you'll always go back to where you were when you first heard it. I was 16 and went into a bar called Whiskey River Tavern with a friend who needed to cash his paycheck. While waiting, a girl played Talk It Over on the jukebox. I remember watching her dance. I was as mesmerized by the song as I was her. Anytime I hear this the scene reappears in my mind. Music is the closest we'll ever get to a time machine. Thanks

@@graysonhugh1Mr. Hugh, I have an imprinted memory associated with your song as well. I live in the Caribbean and my dad used to play it a lot when I was a kid. I remember him driving the family out to the beach one rainy day and I saw the tires of the other cars making waves in water that collected in the parking lot and my young mind thought it looked like a mini beach right next to the real one. Your song was playing on the radio at the time and while I didn't understand much of what you were singing about, "Love walks out that door" resonated with me. I very recently looked up the song last week and was delighted to find that a music video was done for it and I really love how creative the concept was. Top notch song!
And yes, as a kid, I did think you were black and a lot older when you made it lol. I was shocked at how young you looked in the video lol

This was his only major hit, but he hit the Top40 a couple of other times. "Bring It on Back" was the other one folks might remember. He also duetted with Betty Wright on a cover of "How 'Bout Us" by Champagne. I love "Talk It Over" and only rediscovered it recently. I was 11 when it came out, and even though I remember it, it was clearly an "adult" song, and it didn't appeal to my preteen sensibilities as much as my middle-age sensibilities as a 43-yr-old. I don't think I ever saw the video back, or I'd probably have paid more attention to the song.
