My husband was from Pakistan. He passed away 15 years ago just after 15 months of marriage.Due to some difficult family issues I was not able to attend his funeral. He left me with a 40 days old baby at that time and endless loving memories. When I hear this song I feel like flying to Pakistan where he is buried and just lie on his grave till death overcomes me as well. The lyrics shatter my heart to fragment and crush my soul to pieces. Sometimes the pain is too much for my chest to contain and I feel I will just explode. But it never happens. I reassemble my weeping heart and soul and keep going with a smile.I wonder how many pain and sorrow are hidden behind a beautiful smile. I wonder how many tragedies people carry in their lifeline. I wonder what keep us going on and on.

Only the best people of both nations come here to listen this masterpiece. My grandparents from both mother and father side came to India during the Partition. My grandfather and my grandmother both were married in Pakistan but they were separated during partition. My grandfather searched for her and with great difficulty found her. What a turbulent the me that was. So, many people died. Yet he persisted and found her family. Then they settled in a village in Gurdaspur. They loved each other so much throughout their life. Nowadays, couples don't have any patience neither that much Love.

I listen to this song again and again and I cry out in my silence. I miss him alot. I don't know if he ever gets to know this but this song is one such piece to live him. We used to listen to this in the canal of Lahore early morning. He left me and now it never existed for him. My kids have heard it with me earlier too. I introduced this to my son in law yesterday. As a Punjabi, he could also feel the emotions. I cried again. Though I was not the part of migration, actually born here quite later, but I heard the stories of "Hindustan" from my father who spent his childhood there before the partition. He used to tell me the stories of the people and places of Kheda, District Badayun UP and Delhi in such a way that I always felt myself there. He went back to India in 1960 just after his marriage. Once he told me that he cried a lot when he saw his childhood places. I can understand the sorrow and the feelings of the people who left everything behind and started a new life in a new country and still their souls are at the birthplace. Hats off to Mr. Mishra and his team. Kindly do us a favor, the music sound is very high and diminishing the singers voice.

And of course the close relatives from my father side are also there. My Khala visited 3-4 to India. She still shares her memories. I would suggest you to visit Pakistan and enjoy our hospitality, good places and delicious foods. I assure you that we Pakistani don't have any hatred towards our "Cousins" Indian brothers and sisters. I heard this song in 2012, I was in 4 standard, I loved it but couldn't understand the emotions involved and the depth of words. Now after so many years, I found it again and now I can actually feel the pain in this piece of art. The pain of separation and longing is so beautifully depicted in this masterpiece, it is enough to make you cry, even if you haven't gone through that pain.

Purely from a musical point of view. While Piyush ji may not be a trained singer (dont know, but doesnt seem like), whats astounding is that he hits the Re (Rishabh) note perfect every single time, e.g, in the beginning "do pargana mein pahunche ", where he sings pahunche at 0.33. And then he hits the perfect "Sa"- Shadaj at oh husna (1.24). Hats Off for the singer and the musicians for creating that Raga Marwa like reflective, contemplative vibe, just with these two notes..

My grandfather and my grandmother both were married in Pakistan but they were separated during partition. My grandfather searched for her and with great difficulty found her. What a turbulent the me that was. So, many people died. Yet he persisted and found her family. Then they settled in a village in Gurdaspur. They loved each other so much throughout their life. Nowadays, couples don't have any patience neither that much Love.

Though I was not the part of migration, actually born here quite later, but I heard the stories of "Hindustan" from my father who spent his childhood there before the partition. He used to tell me the stories of the people and places of Kheda, District Badayun UP and Delhi in such a way that I always felt myself there. He went back to India in 1960 just after his marriage. Once he told me that he cried a lot when he saw his childhood places.
I can understand the sorrow and the feelings of the people who left everything behind and started a new life in a new country and still their souls are at the birthplace.
Hats off to Mr. Mishra and his team. Kindly do us a favor, the music sound is very high and diminishing the singers voice.
I can feel the emotions bro. Good that you can understand. So many people in both the sides still feel the pain of partition. People have relatives and friends at the both sides of these borders. Wish we could travel both countries without restrictions.
@@ravin2363 This is a fact that the people from both countries indeed like each other. Eldest sister of my mother was left in Badayun, she has a big family there. And of course the close relatives from my father side are also there. My Khala visited 3-4 to India. She still shares her memories. I would suggest you to visit Pakistan and enjoy our hospitality, good places and delicious foods. I assure you that we Pakistani don't have any hatred towards our "Cousins" Indian brothers and sisters. I really want to visit India but I don't think that it would not be possible in presence of Mr. Modi. And one thing more, its good to chat with you. I am from Karachi, please pay my salam to the "Janam Bhoomi" of my parents.

I heard this song in 2012, I was in 4 standard, I loved it but couldn't understand the emotions involved and the depth of words. Now after so many years, I found it again and now I can actually feel the pain in this piece of art. The pain of separation and longing is so beautifully depicted in this masterpiece, it is enough to make you cry, even if you haven't gone through that pain.

Purely from a musical point of view. While Piyush ji may not be a trained singer (dont know, but doesnt seem like), whats astounding is that he hits the Re (Rishabh) note perfect every single time, e.g, in the beginning "do pargana mein pahunche ", where he sings pahunche at 0.33. And then he hits the perfect "Sa"- Shadaj at oh husna (1.24). Hats Off for the singer and the musicians for creating that Raga Marwa like reflective, contemplative vibe, just with these two notes..
