Continuous Mixer Salt Coating

A customer came to S. Howes to coat a salt product quickly, thoroughly and with minimal product damage. Their product was fed into our continuous mixer and a colorant coating was hand sprayed to see how quickly the dye would completely coat the salt product, while keeping product breakage to a minimum. The customer was very pleased with the results as the product was completed coated in a matter of seconds and then discharged with minimal degradation to their product.
Our continuous mixers allow our customer’s to change each paddle angle to control the residence and mixing properties to optimize their process. This customer wanted a minimum retention time so all paddles were set in the forward mixing orientation. If their process would have needed more residence time we could have adjusted our paddles/mixer to allow for more residence time. This process flexibility allows our customers to optimize our equipment to their need.
