Hunting season: 15th of May - 15th of September
The roe deer is a common species throughout the country; the population is quite variable depending on topography and habitat. The well-developed roebucks can be hunt in depressions, in lowland meadows up to low hills. In these areas, there is a strong genetic background. In good years trophies of 500 grams net are often shot. In the hilly areas there are hunting places of a great variety where, with a well-organized stalking beautiful specimens are shot.
Methods of hunting: stalking, lurking, in horse-drawn carriages.

(They mainly use 30-06) in Europe for the Roe deer. For me a 223 is over kill for these Small deer.
