Sweet car. Thanks for posting, I am swapping out my rear springs tomorrow on my 60 Impala. I am going to lose 3" from stock. I was told to loosen and re-tighten the carrier bearing at ride height.
Good idea having the safety block there along with the jackstands, I do the same thing. I cringe every time I see someone under a car that's only on jackstands.
I just purchased some REAR KING Springs from Australia , for my 60 Biscayne the box stated a 30mm drop, it dropped it only 5mm. the stock spring is 14mm the new slightly shorter spring is 18mm.
Kings springs for impalas are terrible i bought few difrent sets non of them sits in correct "bedding position and then setled for vk -vl but impala droped probably 5inch
Beautiful car! I'm new to the mechanical side of things and am not real sure exactly where to place Jack stands on the front or back. Could you do a short video on that?
Love that color. What did you have to undo to lower the rear axle ? I am going to look at a 63 tomorrow but the rear springs are out of it...something has to hold it together...thanks
I 62 same color as yours and looking to do the same thing. I took a screen shot of your car before and after and I really see almost zero difference. Not enough to visibly notice….
Nice cars ! I have a red 63. did the front shocks last night . doing back tonight .. do your poly front bushings squeak at all ? and is it hard to replace the balls joints and bushings yourself ?
Adam check out my previous video of replacing the ball joints, the biggest thing is being safe when you remove the springs. I did a video on removing them, but sorry, don’t remember which video it was. I this it was around 4 or 5. Let me know if you still have any questions.
