    simpler shortcut for 32:01 - Partha is at midpoint and from that instance narayan takes 2 hours to reach B. since partha takes 4 hours more than narayan to reach B, total time taken by partha to cover 30km is 4+2 = 6h. so 30/6 = 5. 1 step solution.

    Another alternate soln to Q1 - Speed for the 2nd part becomes 4/5th hence time taken becomes 5/4. This 1/4 increase in time equates to 45 mins. Hence originally it would have taken 45* 4 = 180 min to cover the distance on time at 30km/hr. Hence distance of 2nd half 90km. Hence total distance 90 + 30 = 120 km

    • @Point99_CAT_MBA
      @Point99_CAT_MBA  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes Vedant. I’m a big fan of this approach. The only issue is the 40 kmph part which you will get once you apply it to both situations. Speed becomes 4/5th, time taken to cover 18 km becomes 5/4th. Time increases by 9 mins so time taken usually to cover 18 km was 36 mins. Speed is 30 kmph. Then comes the 45 mins part. Time taken should have been 180 mins leading to 90 km. Let me know if I’m missing something. Good job though 👍🏽

  • @shubho3003

    Sir,
    In the 2nd problem you say that C is much more efficient than the gap between B and A. The statement in the question suggests that the combined efficieny of C and A is more than that of B (which is what you said). But this can be true with efficiency of C being less than that of B as well since combined efficienct can still be greater than that of B. If Eff(C) is less than Eff(B) then when both B and C are turned on the tank remains empty and C fills the tank in 75 mins which is one of the options. How can we say that Eff(C)>Eff(B) without plugging in option D and checking one of the statements?

    • @Point99_CAT_MBA
      @Point99_CAT_MBA  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah, but B being equal to C will mean that A alone fills the tank in 2 hours or B alone empties the tank in 1 hour which will mean that C alone fills the tank in 1 hour which contradicts the 75 mins in the question.

    • @mayankkohli6598
      @mayankkohli6598 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@Point99_CAT_MBA sir if we take the efficiency of C to be less than B then A will take less than 2 hr to fill the tank or B will take less than 1 hr to empty the tank. In this case C will take 75 mins which is not contradicting the point of being less than the efficiency of B. Please confirm whether it could be possible.

      Thank you, Dishant for the kind words! Regarding staying calm, try out these three things:
      Write down on your rough sheet before you start the test in big bold letters “I’m awesome because I have kept my ego outside”. Keep reading it whenever you get stuck.
      Visualise everything that you can anticipate on the day of the test and be mentally prepared to deal with surprises.
      If you feel scared or sad during the test, keep your pen down, take 5 deep breaths and tell yourself that you got this!

      You can prove this by using similarity. If the heights of the poles are x and y and the height of the middle bit is h, then you will get h/x = d2/d and h/y = d1/d which will give you h/x + h/y = 1.

    why we took 1/80th or=f race is 11 metres?

    • @Point99_CAT_MBA
      @Point99_CAT_MBA  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Think about it in a standalone manner. Let’s say you and your friend are running a 1 km race. You beat your friend by 100 m. So when you have covered 500 m, your friend would be 50 m behind you, when you have covered 800 m, your friend will be 80 m behind you and so on. Now back to the question, the second horse beats the third horse by 80 m eventually. So when the second horse is ahead of the third horse by 79 m, 79/80th of the race is already done. 1/80th of the race still remains which is also 11 m according to the question.

    Definitely sir There are some questions that you solved in a minute with a trick otherwise it may take 5-6 to complete. But in the exam hall , this trick doesn't hit our mind 😢. And without using any trick I am comfortably able to 11-12 questions in every mocks. Just select the easy and moderate questions

    • @Point99_CAT_MBA

      What you are doing is perfectly okay. All these stunts are for the last few mins when you would want to max your score. And you are absolutely right; most of these tricks won’t strike most aspirants during the test. Just that familiarising yourself with what is possible can open up your mind a bit which in turn should give you a small edge.
