That was not Bill Burr. Watch the whole interview and you'll see how often Burr is lacking on education and information. Maher is frequently out-classed by guests on Club Random but Bill Burr was an exception, Burr's just a populist regular Joe who doesn't know much.
In Bill Maher's mind, there's no difference between Hamas and Palestinian civilians.
Because there isn't. Many Palestinians in the West Bank support Hamas. Many do NOT condemn Hamas, especially the "peaceful Muslims" here. Stop being so naive.

@@LisaSpringfield And the core of that is the occupation. Back in 1976, The PLO already supported a two state solution and most Palestinians supported it yet did it happen? NO. Gaza is an open air prison, The West Bank is an apartheid and in the Great March of Return which was mostly peaceful, Palestinians got shot and murdered. So don't be surprised when Palestinians support Hamas.

It's amazing when people say "They attacked Israel first!" Why go back a short period? Go back farther. Israel first attacked them right after WW2 when they took their homes.
What's more amazing is they call all Palestinians Hamas combatants but in reality it's all Israeli who must join the IDF by Isreal command. If we used their logic, Hamas only attacked present, future & former IDF members. Not they way I see it but if we apply their logic, Isreal has only lost IDF members.

@@MrKzup Some people do, and I don't agree with them. Israel is going to remain, whether people like it or not, that is not up for debate. But it is also true that Israel is occupying vast territories in the West Bank. That land needs to be returned. Instead, Israel has used the war in Gaza as an excuse to grab more and more towns in the West Bank.

No Israel was given their territory in 1949. They were constantly attacked, and when you start wars you sometimes lose territory.

At USF Tampa they deployed police helicopters, riot shields, and tear gas on students protesting. One man was arrested with a gun but they were not affiliated with the university just a random Florida man.

What these students need to do after graduation is come together with students who could be needed in their field and create businesses of their own and make them employee owned. So let's say law students. They could combine resources and make a law firm pretty dang quickly. It might take some time but if they get refused jobs they might as well start something themselves.

I think the pause of silence by Burr was significant. Burr gave him those very few moments to reflect on what he'd just said, but Maher - in his sheer arrogance - never used the opportunity to row back. And it's at that moment that Bill Maher proved what an absolute dick he is.

In Maher's film "Religulous", he said - on camera - that the Muslim people he was interviewing were putting on a show to seem nice. He lambasted other religios but - as Sam Greenspan and others noted - he handled Jewish issues with "kid gloves".(Greenspan's words not mine). Maher has been pretty open about his prejudice and bias against Muslims and that serves the purpose of various foreign entity visits since the early 90s. It has been important to dehumanize them and thus by inclusion, the Palestinians.
Maher paints himself as this extremely fair minded centrist, but on the gaza issue he's _extremely_ one-sided, and that's a far-right side. Watch John Oliver's take on the student protests in Last Week Tonight for what a fair take _actually_ looks like.

Most people have no issue with students protesting; they have a problem with the encampments on the campuses.
