Excellent review and great series. I heard the bluetooth module and related applications weren't worth it so I never tried them. I used my phone and the Gaia GPS app (which is great for hiking and other outdoor uses) for the first couple of years. Eventually sprang for a Garmin. I like the Gaia app better. Which you could get that in a stand alone device. My two biggest gripes about my Scrambler is that off road pro resents every time you switch off the bike. More than once I've caught myself in the middle of a creek with traction control screwing me over just because I forgot to put it back in off road mode. The other is the service interval light. Having to buy an app (I use ECUTune and my phone) to turn off the service light is ridiculous if you do you own oil changes and such (which your videos helped us less capable beings handle). Keep on Scramblin'!
Excellent points! I do think the Bluetooth is worth it, if only for the music controls which I use a lot on long trips, but other than that there’s a bit of work to be done to make it worthwhile. Also the traction control issue is a good point - and could be solved pretty easily with software I think, so fingers crossed Triumph might see this one day 😅
@@lifeofascrambler No, the BT module is not worth it. Not at all. There are two things I hate about this bike. The first is keyless go and the second one is the BT module. It's unreliable, and even if it works, it works bad. Navigation: only works with the triumph navigation app, which lacks many essential features and also needs to run in foreground to work at all. Music: It works this way: You pair the phone with the scrambler and the comm system as well. Now you can control the music with the scrambler. BUT this degrades quality because it's two bluetooth steps. You also can't take your phone and walk away from the bike without loosing connection - because the bike is looped in. GoPro Integration: That would have been nice. I even bought a gopro hero 7, because that's the latest model this module officially supports. Well - most of the time it doesn't connect. And it takes longer to reconnect the scrambler and the gopro than it takes to take off the helmet and turn the gopro on/off. Long story short: I think it's wasted money and I haven't seen any development in the app or the module in the last year. I do consider asking my dealer to remove it again. Because while it's installed I have more unusable than usable layers to navigate through on the screen.
I ride an XC one and I am totally in love with it too. Road tripping (is it correct, i'm french?) is marvelous especially in the curved roads of the French or Italian Alpes even off road off course :) Thanks for your sharing dude!
Gday! Welcome and thank for watching! Germany is a beautiful country, but I learned only a few weeks ago that they don’t allow off-road riding?? It seems crazy to me, but I’m sure they have good reasons.
Awesome video, thank you! Echoing what others have said - my main gripe is that you can't start the bike in Off Road mode. Seems insane that this didn't get caught by Triumph earlier. It's already bad enough that you have to be stopped in order to engage it - nothing like telling all your friends to wait for you when the road turns to dirt so you can stop your fancy British bike to change modes. Haha
That’s a great point and I assume shouldn’t be too hard to fix?! I’m wondering, do the BMW’s or other bikes with traction control have the need to stop when you turn it off?!
Very helpfull. You answered a lot of my questions. For instance, the Sense of the connection Modul and the quality of the oem handguards. Thanks for sharing
@@lifeofascrambler No don’t have one yet. Im beetween a T9RP and a beautyfull XC. Allready made a Short Testride with the scrambler. The size of the Bike Seems Perfect for me. But i am a bit concerned due to the Lack of weather Protection and (much more) the robustness in Winter conditions. Dealer said: salty roads? „no Problem“
@@StKlug nice! I can't speak to riding in snowy conditions, BUT I have ridden mine through a bunch of salty water along the beach a lot, and as long as you prepare before by spraying silicon on your underside and bolts, it comes off with no problems. I have had one or two rusty bolts appear in some places but it's mostly around the exhaust because it heats up and cools down so much - which also encourages rust, so I replaced them for a few dollars and its fine!
Triumph did not fix the heat problem in the second gen. I even put an insulation kit on and it helped a tiny bit but on a hot day especially when riding slower speeds on back dirt roads it gets really uncomfortable. When you stand it puts your leg right into it as well. Kevlar jeans help but it still isn't great.
Oh really? Thanks for the feedback - I was told by others it wasn’t a problem but everyone’s different. Do you wear high adventure boots offroad? It’s not a complete problem solver but may help!
Great video - thanks for taking the time. Could you tell me which Quad lock (mount, MAG or not, vibration dampener) you went for and how you set it up? Cheers.
Thanks! I went with the standard bar mount, with the vibration dampener and weatherproof wireless charging head. They only just released the magnetic version - it seems that it’s “not for rigorous activity” according to their website, so if you would also use it in a car, or a desk the magnetic seems useful. There’s also a discount code in my videos / profile!
Having spoken with a few others that have had the same problem, we think it’s from standing on the left footpeg to get onto the bike whilst it’s on the stand, and possibly only when it’s got extra weight (ie camping gear etc) loaded up
I don’t think so, it’s hard to be sure, but the decat moved the majority of heat back towards the rear mufflers, right where I had my bag strapped on, so no doubt it didn’t help!
Hey , I had a issue with TFT gone blank just after it went through the rain for 10 kms . Have you or anyone encountered same issue . I have written to triumph but they are not that good in responding back .
Wow! I have seen someone mention water ingress into the TFT, in the Facebook group - go to the group and search “poll” or “TFT” and you might find the other people that have the problem, or you could ask a question in the group? I’ve always had very good feedback. Otherwise, I have always had better support if I phone or email my local dealership, and they can submit a warranty claim on your behalf?

My dream bike currently and this is coming from sport bike fan..it is indeed a gorgeous bike
Here in the UK the handguards main job is to keep the freezing rain off your hands not just decorative. 😢
Good point! I have thought about getting handguards for that exact purpose but it’s definitely not as much of a problem in Aus 😂

Fit a low exhaust
Yeah I've gone through 2 stock handguards, they break sooooo easily
Yeh I don’t bother anymore haha! I just roll without them, but it does make it cold riding in winter

Some of the best bike videos on TH-cam!
What seat is that brown tuck/roll? Looks rad
Thank you 🤗 I do try to put a lot of info and effort in! It’s actually just the stock seat recovered by Kelpi Custom Moto!
So why did the engine frame cradle crack? Because ot was dropped or just from off road riding?

Worthwhile infrormation thank you

Hey there. Loved the first 2 of 3 parts on the Scrambler, but can’t find the 3rd. Is it published yet please? Cheers.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it, Part 3 is under construction, I’m aiming for Sunday!

I was at a dealership and they had a Scrambler 900 with a broken peg, on the frame similar to this. That seems to be a big red flag.
Zard basso o quello della Street twin
Are you asking if it has the same deep exhaust note as the street twin??
