How do I free up space through my cellphone app?
Remember when gmail was new, and they told us 'oh, you get so much free storage, you'll never have to delete an email ever again'? (liars)
Exactly and now they are trying to charge you once you hit 15gb; I remember them saying the same exact thing smh !!
Yes, I definitely remember them saying “you’ll never have to delete an email again”, and I took them at their word, and for years just did nothing with emails I didn’t care about, now I keep hitting the max and having to work it down. I wish I’d known then and had some of these resources so that I could have put a system in place long ago.
I know right. If you pay for 100gb for that year, once that year is done do you get to keep that 100gb of more storage or not?

Yeah that ended up being my issue also. I had over 80 thousand promotion emails.
I don't know how common this is but I couldn't for the life of me figure out why my Google Drive was so full. It said something like 91% full and it kept asking if I wanted to buy more space. I had no idea that Gmail takes up Google Drive space. I could finally understand why my Drive was so full. Many thanks for making this video. Consider me subscribed!

Thanks for the info, very useful. One question. Is there a way to delete the attachments and keep the original email? In most cases it's the attachments that uses the space.

Another thing that I’ve discovered is if you put in the search bar “is:important” or you go to the important tab you’ll see a lot of spam/promotional emails that were never deleted. I have over 42,000 emails that were taking up storage for things I thought was deleted. Google fills up your storage then try’s to get you to pay for it. SMH 🤦🏽♀️

Ty for this helpful informative vids. I plan to try it out just now after this comment. Originally I would do as u mentioned in this vid, I would opt certain sender & choose delete by bulk, but before hitting that delete button I would 1st scanned all the thru checked boxes to select and uncheck boxes on emails I wanted to keep.
I have a question, if I may. It may be a silly question. I have a TH-cam Channel of my own with several playlists and a few of the playlists are "videos I personally made." Does that affect storage in my Google account? If so, How?

Can you explain how to free up photo space? I have them synced to the iCloud. Then do I flip off the sync button and delete photos off my phone?? Then turn sync back on? Wont that put things back ON my phone?? Help!!!

I am paying for storage for the 100 GB. Do not want to pay it any longer, but if I stop paying my monthly fee I get no emails to come in. i’ve done all your suggestions and cleaned everything out. What if I want to stop google drive from saving emails on there, while still automatically syncing everything else? Makes no sense to save all of my emails to my drive, to then have to go on a mission to free up email space!?

Okay, I had 11.6gb of 15 taken up and once I cleared my email, photos and overall storage, it went up to 10.5gb of 15 on my google drive. I go into the overall storage and it says that I've only got 2gb used from all google related accounts and the links from my google drive do not take me anywhere. The more items I delete the more storage gets taken up and my bin is empty. There are no current files on my google drive. Any other suggestions?
