The rest feel like I was playing some cool games, but 1, 2, and 4 made me feel like I was actually in the game. Not sure how to explain it, but these just felt so... alien to me. The vibe and atmosphere of playing through these particular entries made me feel so imbedded into each, because it wasn't just a platforming sci-fi experience, it felt like I was participating in a parallel or alternate universe. The balance between how light-hearted and dark/serious they got was pretty much perfect and I think that's why they blow the rest out of the water. I really felt like I had entered the unknown that manifested insurmountable odds, but as long as I had Ratchet and Clank to rely on, the alien universe was a spectacle I could enjoy to the fullest, without wanting to give up on it or feel like I would eventually be disappointed due to expectations or boredom. To me, the original, Going Commando, and Deadlocked are the most captivating. They feel like I went into outer space and embarked on the most epic journey that video games, as a whole, could produce/depict. The build-up to the Drek boss fight, the Tabora desert level with the crazy awesome and eerie soundtrack, the ominous Ghost Station with the hardest enemies, the despair of being one entity with a buddy on your back/in the tech chair against certain death brought on by endless aliens from the void and fully fleshed out platforming levels are some of the greatest, if not the best gaming moments of my entire life. absolutely great list, I just detest the remaster and would've stuffed that bad boy in the F or D tier. It was distasteful how they handled the story, and just playing the game like I needed my hand held the entire time was abysmal. I really like hearing how similar our thoughts about the series was, great vid!
I didn’t get to play the first R&C game until after I played to remaster. I read some things about the remaster and watched the first games cutscenes and realized how dirty it did the first game. The only game I had played prior to the remaster was Tools of Destruction. I found it lying around the house one day and then it basically converted me from Nintendo to PlayStation. I finally got the first game a couple of days ago and it is already WAY better than the remaster. I’m only about halfway through though. I totally agree the remaster should’ve been in one of the lower tiers it didn’t deserve to be in A tier with Tools. Tools is far better.
If you don't write scripts for your videos I think you should. It will help you collect your thoughts. It seemed like you didn't really have any details as to why you were placing games in specific ranks. Other than that good video! Love the Ratchet and clank series.
overall pretty accurate. I would have personally put deadlocked over the remaster though, simply because I detest how they butchered the first game to make it. Like leaving half the game out, and altering the story like there's no tomorrow.
I hated the 2016 remakes story cut planets and the animations during cutscenes were really bad I’m pretty sure the trash movie is to blame for this it’s a shame because the gameplay was a blast except for clank sections
For me it gotta be S: Crack in time, R&C 1, Rift Apart A: Going Commando, TOD, UYA B: Ratcht & Clank PS4, C: Deadlocked D: Quest for booty, All for one, FFA F: Playstation heroes
Got the first three I'm 48 I played his back when I was in my twenties and I was trying to find a video that tells me which one people think I should play first and you know what I'm going to go where it all starts the first one thanks man
My mans really put the reboot on the same level as UYA and GoCo, and above Deadlocked. Faith in hunanity lost. S-Tier: UYA, GoCo, Deadlocked, and the OG A: CIT, Rift B: Tools C: Nexus, Quest, Size Matters D: SAC and A4O F: Bloons Tower Defense Ripoff and Reboot
Personally, I have to go with Rift Apart and Going Commando as being the best games in the series. I’ve played 1, 2, 3, future, quest for booty, PS4 movie game, and rift apart so I don’t have full perspective.
Great Video. And great Tierlist! I would flip Ratchet and Clank 1 and 3, Dreadlock to A-Tier and flip Size Matters with All 4 One. But still very relatable! Good work!
the undisputed top 2 in my opinion are the original and going commando. the better between these 2 depends if u like third person shooters or platforming more. The original having better platforming and tactical gameplay and going commando having better shooting mechanics and weapons. Both games do great in these 2 avenues regardless. the third game despite being great in its own right still lacked in these 2 departments in comparison. This is due to the short development this game had as well as having to make a multiplayer mode alongside the campaign
i'm totally agree with every your tier choice. I'm glad you've didn't put RaC for PS4 somewhere down. It was prety good game. S tier games are the most memorable and with the greatest story. For me was Tools of destruction a bit hard to choose. I think it's perfectly ballanced between S and A tier.
Ratchet 3 is my favourite. It took everything good for the previous games. Removed everything that wasn't as good and the end result is just perfect in everyway. It has the best arena challenges to this day. Even zerkies isn't as good as annihilation nation. Ratchet and clank 2 was alright but it just had so many things that were just pure trash. The glider, puzzles, clank levels, the hover board racing, the ship levels and probably other stuff aswell. I feel like if they spent more time perfecting less rather then jamming all this other half assed content into the game it could have been better. Mite be controversial but I personally think outside of the story ratchet 2 just isn't that good of a game. It had its moments but you spend way to much time doing boring stuff rather then playing as ratchet. So glad they fkd all that crap off in future games.
S: Up Your Arsenal, Going Commando, A Crack in Time, Tools Of Destruction A: Quest for Booty, R&C 2002, Rift Apart B: R&C 2016, Into The Nexus, Full Frontal Assault, Deadlocked C: All 4 One D: Size Matters, Secret Agent Clank
personally i'd of switched deadlocked with the ratchet and clank remaster , the game itself was good , but when you really look at what it was attempting to do , it gets dragged down to a B or even a C , and the fact they tossed in scenes from the movie to serves as cut scenes , kind of took away from the gameplay in my opinion , to me it made it feel less like a remaster and more like a movie copy. ( and a copy of a bad movie that that ) deadlocked however was great , it was a unique style of ratchet and clank that i kind of wish we got one more game of , focusing more on combat & less on platforming , upgrading the guns to V99 was a fun grind and it also had good difficulty options , the weapons where pretty customizable on a scale we hadn't scene before or really ever since , i'm glad insomniac didn't make that gameplay style the core feature going forward , but it was still a fun & unique adventure , as i side complaint: for some reason theres also little to no mention of it going forward in the series either , theres always some odd reference to past villains or planets or monsters or other various NPC's that the games reference , or some old characters briefly re-appear , but no one outside of those kidnapped , re-appeared in the series , not the kids not the announcers we saved , not that cool little pet thingy vox had , nothing.
I have played all except for Size Matters, Secret Agent Clank, FFA, and all 4 one and I wasn't a huge fan of into the nexus cause for a full game it was way too short I ended up finishing it in a day and had everything upgraded to max and all gold bolts in about 3 days me personally I'd put that in the C and I'd put Going Comando in the S cause I had so much fond memories with it and it was the one I played the most and was my introduction to R&C I think I beat it about 13 times on one save profile and 3 on another and about 2 or 3 on another so about 18 or 19 times in total
^_^ that is so cool seeing ur ranking of them. For me I have only played the first 3 games, but from watching u play them I would say my ranking is similar to ur tier list, except with 2 above 3 and the 2016 one down below at least into the nexus. A large part of why I love the old games is the music, it's seriously just amazing I love how it combined orchestral instruments, hip-hop, and techno or like electronic music. I also love how it had this weird mishmash of genres the music still fitted the level/stuff going on, AND I love how the songs of the same planet sound similar or have the same instruments (like with the 3 songs for metropolis). I also just love the bass and percussion of all the songs too. I know this sounds very mean and I'm sorry, but that's why I dont really like the 2016 remake, the soundtrack is just generic orchestral music and sometimes theres like electronic stuff but it just feels like the orchestral parts and electronic parts dont belong and flow together, unlike the originals. But for the newer games like tools of destruction, crack in time, and rift apart the more orchestral stuff is fitting since that is the direction they are sort of going, and rift part's music was just amazing too ^_^ What would u like from the next ratchet and clank game? For me I would love a city level like megalopolis and silver city and canal city, we didnt really get that in rift apart apart from the first level (but it doesnt really count imo) and nefarious city. I would like a section like in silver city where u have to fly in between heavy amount of flying cars or something that u do that shows the place is heavily populated, I think it would be the most amazing thing ever.
I love their platforming formula, beat things, get bolts, buy things and progress the story :) so as long as they stuck with that I think I'll like whatever the next one is! I do like that they experiment with new things in each game to make them each unique :)
I was so confused about deadlocked.... Because in my country New Zealand it was called Ratchet and Clank Gladiator. I was wondering why it wasn't on the list
Real solid list, the three first ps2 games would jump up and down between S and A for me, but the original at S is where I would put it along with A crack in time.
I thought the 2016 movie game was a b or c tier because the story was lacking. I also thought that into the nexus was a satisfying ending to the original games so I put it at an A
Iv been trying to play ratchet and clank 1 on ps prenium but I was a little disappointed when you couldn't lock on enemy's, I loved deadlocked and tools of destruction, ratchet and clank 2 was alright but 3 was amazing
I think the remake of the first game for PS4 was pretty bad especially when you break the games down in comparison. The writing is worse, the characters more bland, and it's way easier eeeehhhh I missed the edgey humor of the original trilogy
Dam I had to skip ahead with watching all the past games to see how you liked the games I would have swapped secret agent clank and size matters tho, it was a lot more fun lol alright back to a crack in time, played some of these as a kid as well and got to say I loved the multiplayer on them, wish they would bring that back
RC1 is half a surprise, personally I liked RC3 more, but it was my first. I thought SAC is better than RCSM, but I haven't played them at all ToD would be B tier on a good day for me, but definitely agree on aCiT. Nexus is better than C, I think The remake is bad. I don't like it, and it deserves to be C tier or below. At best, I can see people liking it because they like the first one, but it really pales in comparison to it IMO I'm currently playing through rift apart, glad to see people like it!
for me the tier list goes like this: S: 2, 3, ACiT, RA A: 1, DL B: ToD, Remake, Nexus C: QfB D: SM F: SaC, A4O, FFA I really hate all for one, and I haven't played full frontal assault but from what I've seen (gameplays, reviews, etc), it is pretty bad.
Good video, but you need to get better at expressing yourself. Anytime you can't find the words to express yourself you laugh, and it happens far too often.
Love the Ratchet&Clank Games. Played all of them, except the PS5-Part. Can not afford this console at present. Drives me mad, unable to play the newest Ratchet-Game. Except "Into the Nexus" i have every platinum.
I would have put the first one on the bottom... It was hard to play for me. My favorite was 3, dreadlock and the remastered one on the PS4. I am sure the PS5 one would be in the top but I can't play it yet. 😁😁😁 I can't wait to see what's next.
the movie game would be in about D tier for me... it looked amazing but the vibe was off (felt too disney) and the story was really shite... thank god they didn't keep that version of the origin when they made rift apart
PCSX2, you can download the games from Vimm's Lair (though the speeds are awful there). Would recommend playing 1, 2 and 3. The 1st is my favorite, though the game play mechanics will feel very dated.
I got ratchet 1 on a ps2 demo disc it had 3 levels I think haha but ive never played the actual game I played the crap out of going commando and up your arsenal
I'm sorry but I paused the video and stopped watching within the first 2 mins because R&C 1, while it has a special place as the first one I played, Objectively, there's no way it's S tier. We're not even in the same ballpark. The pacing was off The continue points were too few and far between The difficulty was NOT consistant or ahd logical increments. While it laid down some good framework and foundational mechanics, I feel the series really didn't establish it's niche, it's identity until R&C2 when you can hold down L2 or R2 to strafe from the very beginning. And the weapons levelled up and evolved with you.

If you don't write scripts for your videos I think you should. It will help you collect your thoughts. It seemed like you didn't really have any details as to why you were placing games in specific ranks. Other than that good video! Love the Ratchet and clank series.
I'll keep that in mind if I do another one of these videos 😅 Thank you!!
These games all were my childhood
Can we talk about how perfect the OG trilogy is
overall pretty accurate.
For me it gotta be
S: Crack in time, R&C 1, Rift Apart
A: Going Commando, TOD, UYA
B: Ratcht & Clank PS4,
C: Deadlocked
D: Quest for booty, All for one, FFA
F: Playstation heroes
Got the first three I'm 48 I played his back when I was in my twenties and I was trying to find a video that tells me which one people think I should play first and you know what I'm going to go where it all starts the first one thanks man
Going commando is my personal fav out of the trilogy
My mans really put the reboot on the same level as UYA and GoCo, and above Deadlocked. Faith in hunanity lost.
S-Tier: UYA, GoCo, Deadlocked, and the OG
A: CIT, Rift
B: Tools
C: Nexus, Quest, Size Matters
D: SAC and A4O
F: Bloons Tower Defense Ripoff and Reboot
I just wish that the entire ratchet and clank games were imported on to ps4 and ps5 for the 20th anniversary of ratchet and clank.
Personally, I have to go with Rift Apart and Going Commando as being the best games in the series. I’ve played 1, 2, 3, future, quest for booty, PS4 movie game, and rift apart so I don’t have full perspective.
I loved secret agent clank
I grew up with Tools of Destruction, Q for B and all4one on ps3. I do enjoy the ps4 game but the controls got changed I think
A crack in time is lit the best ratchet and clank in my opinion still haven’t played rift apart but crack in time holds sum for me
2016 only really gets a pass for everything but it’s story
@VinceSM True
Great Video. And great Tierlist! I would flip Ratchet and Clank 1 and 3, Dreadlock to A-Tier and flip Size Matters with All 4 One. But still very relatable! Good work!
S: 1, 3, a crack in time, 2, ToD
A: Deadlocked, Rift Apart, R&C 2016, QfB
B: Size matters, Into the nexus
Rest I haven't played I think
the undisputed top 2 in my opinion are the original and going commando. the better between these 2 depends if u like third person shooters or platforming more.
Its ur opinion and thats fine but you really liked ratchet and clank ps4 more then deadlocked?
I agree that’s insane to me. Gameplay for 2016 ratchet is very good, but the story is just sooooo bad.
S: Up Your Arsenal, Going Commando, A Crack in Time, Tools Of Destruction
A: Quest for Booty, R&C 2002, Rift Apart
B: R&C 2016, Into The Nexus, Full Frontal Assault, Deadlocked
C: All 4 One
D: Size Matters, Secret Agent Clank
personally i'd of switched deadlocked with the ratchet and clank remaster , the game itself was good , but when you really look at what it was attempting to do , it gets dragged down to a B or even a C , and the fact they tossed in scenes from the movie to serves as cut scenes , kind of took away from the gameplay in my opinion , to me it made it feel less like a remaster and more like a movie copy. ( and a copy of a bad movie that that )
deadlocked however was great , it was a unique style of ratchet and clank that i kind of wish we got one more game of , focusing more on combat & less on platforming , upgrading the guns to V99 was a fun grind and it also had good difficulty options , the weapons where pretty customizable on a scale we hadn't scene before or really ever since , i'm glad insomniac didn't make that gameplay style the core feature going forward , but it was still a fun & unique adventure ,
as i side complaint: for some reason theres also little to no mention of it going forward in the series either , theres always some odd reference to past villains or planets or monsters or other various NPC's that the games reference , or some old characters briefly re-appear , but no one outside of those kidnapped , re-appeared in the series , not the kids not the announcers we saved , not that cool little pet thingy vox had , nothing.
A think TOD and UYA deserved to be along with the original, ACIT and RA.
Size maters was my first one and I love it
I have played all except for Size Matters, Secret Agent Clank, FFA, and all 4 one and I wasn't a huge fan of into the nexus cause for a full game it was way too short I ended up finishing it in a day and had everything upgraded to max and all gold bolts in about 3 days me personally I'd put that in the C and I'd put Going Comando in the S cause I had so much fond memories with it and it was the one I played the most and was my introduction to R&C I think I beat it about 13 times on one save profile and 3 on another and about 2 or 3 on another so about 18 or 19 times in total
I thought i had played all of them or at least most of them but now I'm questioning whether I've played even half LOL
But for the newer games like tools of destruction, crack in time, and rift apart the more orchestral stuff is fitting since that is the direction they are sort of going, and rift part's music was just amazing too ^_^
What would u like from the next ratchet and clank game?
For me I would love a city level like megalopolis and silver city and canal city, we didnt really get that in rift apart apart from the first level (but it doesnt really count imo) and nefarious city. I would like a section like in silver city where u have to fly in between heavy amount of flying cars or something that u do that shows the place is heavily populated, I think it would be the most amazing thing ever.
I love their platforming formula, beat things, get bolts, buy things and progress the story :) so as long as they stuck with that I think I'll like whatever the next one is! I do like that they experiment with new things in each game to make them each unique :)
Ratchet 1 over Going Commando and UYA
=
Automatic W list
I was so confused about deadlocked.... Because in my country New Zealand it was called Ratchet and Clank Gladiator. I was wondering why it wasn't on the list
he did a tier list woooo
Going commando is my favorite one
Real solid list, the three first ps2 games would jump up and down between S and A for me, but the original at S is where I would put it along with A crack in time.
99% agree but going commando is S.
Up your arsanal should be S. Everyone ive ever talked to that played the game series. THAT was it for them
I thought the 2016 movie game was a b or c tier because the story was lacking. I also thought that into the nexus was a satisfying ending to the original games so I put it at an A
All 4 One is one of the best co-op games of all time, but also one of the dullest single player games
The first 3 are good for me my childhood and it was just endless fun
I played 3 first then 2 and 1. I think R&C 3 is still to this day the only game I have completed 8 times in total. Man, those were easy times.
@@pyroandi6797 Same here lol
Man got stoned and made a video lol, enjoyed it.
Putting quest for booty in the same tier as nexus and deadlocked is a sin
Dam I had to skip ahead with watching all the past games to see how you liked the games I would have swapped secret agent clank and size matters tho, it was a lot more fun lol alright back to a crack in time, played some of these as a kid as well and got to say I loved the multiplayer on them, wish they would bring that back
The multiplayer on Up Your Arsenal was highly underrated and honestly revolutionary for it's time and as a platformer multiplayer.
RC1 is half a surprise, personally I liked RC3 more, but it was my first.
I thought SAC is better than RCSM, but I haven't played them at all
ToD would be B tier on a good day for me, but definitely agree on aCiT. Nexus is better than C, I think
The remake is bad. I don't like it, and it deserves to be C tier or below. At best, I can see people liking it because they like the first one, but it really pales in comparison to it IMO
I'm currently playing through rift apart, glad to see people like it!
Damn nice I gotta watch this bro! Before I’ve even seen it though, you out deadlocked on the same level as quest for booty !
for me the tier list goes like this:
S: 2, 3, ACiT, RA
A: 1, DL
B: ToD, Remake, Nexus
C: QfB
D: SM
F: SaC, A4O, FFA
I really hate all for one, and I haven't played full frontal assault but from what I've seen (gameplays, reviews, etc), it is pretty bad.
The fact that Ratchet and Clank 2016 is rated higher than deadlocked is a little upsetting
I reckon, my heart lurched when I saw that placement.
only thing i'd change is having the 1st one being A tier and Going commando/Up your arsenal being S
this tier list be like: bad memory lol
all in good fun :)
you forgot to bring The Ratchet og Clank Trilogy in your list
Good video, but you need to get better at expressing yourself. Anytime you can't find the words to express yourself you laugh, and it happens far too often.
That's probably some of the most helpful criticism I've ever gotten! Thank you :D
Size matters was a god tier game idk what you guys are talking about
Ratchet 2016 and Deadlock need to switch places
Love the Ratchet&Clank Games. Played all of them, except the PS5-Part. Can not afford this console at present. Drives me mad, unable to play the newest Ratchet-Game. Except "Into the Nexus" i have every platinum.
I would have put the first one on the bottom... It was hard to play for me. My favorite was 3, dreadlock and the remastered one on the PS4. I am sure the PS5 one would be in the top but I can't play it yet. 😁😁😁
I can't wait to see what's next.
Soon you will be able to hopefully!!
Crack in Time beats 3 of the 4 ps2 games? Did your mom drink while she was pregnant with you?
I'd go 2, 3 and TOD in S and 1 and CiT in A then drop PS4 to B but otherwise pretty good
ACIT below ToD!?🤯
the movie game would be in about D tier for me... it looked amazing but the vibe was off (felt too disney) and the story was really shite... thank god they didn't keep that version of the origin when they made rift apart
deadlocked God tier best ratchet and clank of all time.
Ty for this video i was looking for the best game for ps3, because i played in the past all the ps2 games.Ty again
Ratchet 1 2 3 are S+ ratchet 1 felt like real atmospheres of planets etc rc2 had combat
I always had intrest in this series but never looked too deep into it. Any suggestions? And where to play them?
The originals can be played on a PCSX2 emulator if you don't have a ps2 or a 3
PCSX2, you can download the games from Vimm's Lair (though the speeds are awful there). Would recommend playing 1, 2 and 3. The 1st is my favorite, though the game play mechanics will feel very dated.
Maybe a script if you do these again.
I got ratchet 1 on a ps2 demo disc it had 3 levels I think haha but ive never played the actual game I played the crap out of going commando and up your arsenal
My ranking of the original trilogy + deadlocked is as follows:
1: Going Commando
2: Deadlocked
3: Up Your Arsenal
4:Ratchet and Clank
Deadlock S tier
I'm sorry but I paused the video and stopped watching within the first 2 mins because R&C 1, while it has a special place as the first one I played, Objectively, there's no way it's S tier. We're not even in the same ballpark.
The pacing was off
The continue points were too few and far between
The difficulty was NOT consistant or ahd logical increments.
While it laid down some good framework and foundational mechanics, I feel the series really didn't establish it's niche, it's identity until R&C2 when you can hold down L2 or R2 to strafe from the very beginning. And the weapons levelled up and evolved with you.
Ratchet 1 has aged pretty damn bad, the controls are far inferior to the later games.
Going commando s tier
All for one should have at least been C
S: Going Commando, Up Your Arsenal, Tools of Destruction, A Crack in Time
A: Ratchet & Clank, Deadlocked
B: Quest for Booty, Into the Nexus
C: Size Matters, Secret Agent Clank, 2016 Remake, Rift Apart
D: All 4 One, Full Frontal Assault
Bro why do you keep laughing like that
I hated secret agent clank got it on psp and was so disappointed as a kid
deadlocked is a tier bruh
Here is my ranking of the ratchet and clank games I've played BEST to WORST. Any RAC game NOT in this list I haven't played.
RAC tools of destruction
Ratchet and clank (2002)
RAC going commando
Ratchet and clank (2016)
RAC up your arsenal
RAC all 4 one
RAC into the nexus
