Bishop Calvin Woods Sr. speaks in Montgomery, AL.

Traveling with Etgar 36, our group of 26, mostly from Northern California, met with 90 year old Bishop Calvin Wallace Woods Sr., in Kelly Ingram Park, Birmingham, Alabama. This is the site where police set hoses and attack dogs on children protesting for civil rights in May 1963. Woods was also beaten and jailed. Later he was named president of the Birmingham Southern Christian Leadership Conference.
