Oof... Having watched just the draft portion, I'm putting the over-under on this deck winning 1.5 games. That's not taking into account the title. I have no idea how we ever win a match.
I'm at the same point in the video. I couldn't believe that retrofitter pick when he knew he wasn't getting academy and he was already drafting storm. Guess he did just get urza.
@@timluo6120 Well, decks with Mana Crypt and a mox are generally capable of stealing matches. Without them this deck would have struggled to win a game.
In the game against Martel where you had to find a way to twenty, I think turnabout on toms upkeep would have won easily the turn before the last turn. Chandra copies it, so you get to tap lands and creatures
1:23:40 could LSV untap his lands with Turnabout, casted manamorphose off of treasure and an artifact, casted heartbeat of spring, library and Brain Freeze for lethal? Not sure if oppo had Emarkul or something. Just brainstorming (hehe) a way to win with Brain Freeze here.
I feel like if you weren't forcing combo that Ancient Tomb was a solid option for a first pick. Powerful card, leaves you open to move into pretty much anything. Maybe I overrate the card a bit but I've always found it to be very good.
47:21 Did you notice that Turnabout on creatures is just lethal here unless Slaxx's one unknown card can stop it? You seemed very surprised by the Turnabout take.
"I'm never the one doing those things, but that's because i'm not as lucky as my opponents." Let's go to the tape, Frank! lmao the amount of times i've watched you call academy on t2, or open power, or five torch the tower's in a single game, sure, you never get lucky ;)
Clearly this deck didn't quite get there. In hindsight, other than dark ritual instead of retrofitting, do we feel there were paths in this draft to a more winning deck?
You're luck in this vid was legendary levels of bad. Your dice rolls on mana crypt is obvious, but even your Pair O' Dice lost luck was kinda bad too. Luckily you're deck was low enough to the ground even rolling 4s and 5s was good enough most of the time.
another Luis “1 2 3 4 5 it might wheel” Scott-Vargas classic
I appreciate how energized Luis seems at the end of each video, even though he's been doing them for a couple months now
Never get tired of cube.
"I never met an Urza I didn't like" is a classic LSV quotable
Wow, seeing the line to get up to 20 in the game against Tom was beautiful.
I think I clip something every draft I watch carefully.
I see LSV has been learning from my storm drafts
Pretty sure I have watched LSV videos for around 17 years. ❤️

Most LSV video title of all time.
4 color Lake of the dead deck, what a maniac, I love it
deck was only missing a high tide!
i dont know what to expect from the title
p3p3 windswept heath was sultai w the shrine in the board!
Windswept Heath was also a black land given the duals in the board
Sandydog once again playing the villain in the story of a somewhat questionable LSV cube draft, you love to see it.
LSV's mana crypt was the real villain of that match
Anytime I draft storm, I only 3-0 with a deck that barely got there and usually 1-2 if it is a storm deck that has everything
this deck definitely did not get there
@@jrjamesson Yeah, it would have been a trainwreck without the Mox Jet and Mana Crypt.

Its awful lol, over/under should be put at .5
@@timluo6120 Wish I could have bet against you. I was pretty confident LSV would do better than 0-6 without even looking at the deck.

Lurrus invested in a greenhouse to get that lotus all day... whoof.
My first experience with Torsten was in Momir basic, and boy was it nice

This is what we are all here for 😁

Ulamog in deck
@@hansenchrisw Oh yeah, that makes sense, thanks
LSV casually opening his 6th mox in like 4 drafts
never change, this was awesome
nice to see yawgmoth's bargain go off a bit!
Damn, that round 2 was harsh.
That interaction is why Lurrus was banned in Vintage for a while.
Is there a group or a website that organizes vintage drafts like this? I would love to play this with some random people.
They have their own Discord server.
is there a link to the cube list somewhere?
Come one, come all. It is time to gather and learn from the master once again!
You mention you didn't have a creature for Flash. Isn't Torsten a decent flash creature?
It's great with Flash!
Thank you!

I was surprised as well it didn’t warrant a mention, luis usually rates it highly
He wasn't forcing combo
Ancient Tomb is the better card in the abstract, but Brain Freeze has outs to multiple combos.
More Vintage Cube! \o/

Do you have any thoughts on potentially taking displacer kitten second over pentad prism?

Brutal running into 2 aggro decks in a row.
Well the second match was more a case of Jesse repeatedly having draws with Lurrus and Lotus.
I was yelling at my screen in game 2 when he didn't put Turnabout on top with the Brainstorm
I would agree that Brainstorm is a pretty good card
Even had one mana to spare in m3g1! ez!
consider choosing "tails"
how is this dice card good
Reading the card explains the card. 😆

Perversely, LSV rolled really well on his Mana Crypt flips against Tom Martell. 😆
Love the content, but I have straight up acquired misophonia from your sound setup. So, day 4 of asking for non-ASMR draft content😂
Day 5 of asking LSV to play cube with only alternate art.
Unfortunately for you, LSV is a man of culture. 😆
