Emma is basically "Cinderella" None of the adults even do a single chore and it's pathetic They wanted her to drop out of school instead actually helping Emma. Glad Ms Allen was actually on her side
I don't believe this family. Even after telling Emma about their realizations of taking her for granted, they still wanted to guilt trip her into putting her time and education on hold to help clean up their mess. -- BTW, it didn't escape my notice that the parents could've talk to Emma over the phone or travel to her college to speak to her, instead of Emma (on a tight college budget), traveling back home.
@Dreamerlightning YOU KNOW THAT'S RIGHT. EMMA'S FORMER FAMILY IS NOT VERY BRIGHT. THEY TRIED TO BE SNEAKY LIKE THIEVES IN THE NIGHT. WHAT IS DONE IN THE DARK, ALWAYS COMES INTO THE LIGHT!!!! THEY NEED TO LEARN HOW TO STAND ON THEIR OWN TWO FEET AND LEARN HOW TO FIGHT!!! MOST OF ALL, GET OUT OF EMMA'S SIGHT!!!
The audacity of Emma's mother. "If you think this is best, we support you?" Support? She needed support the whole time she lived with them. But no one supported her because, in that house, it was all about Lily. To them she nor her education matter. When Lily apologized, I was like her. What's the point in apologizing. Emma asked her to help but Lily stayed glued to her phone. Emma sacrificed a lot because Lily was her parent's favorite. So why get upset and put her in her place when it's too late. Emma made the right choice leaving and I agree. It was time for her family to do things for themselves. They have to learn that the world doesn't revolve around Lily. They have to learn how to respect Emma, stop expecting her to do and make sacrifices for them. Most importantly stop depending on Emma so much.
You are Not in the USA for sure! By law here a child has to go to school to the 12th grade, or until they are 18 years old . There are exceptions. They can be home-schooled, but they are required to pass State Exams to continue that. And of course, if the child is very ill they will be excused - but a doctors okay Has to be provided. For a child here to quit school and go to work, even with the parents say-so would not be allowed, now. There are too many ways the government can help; unless the law has changed recently that is. Years ago poor families and Farm families that needed every hand they could get and didn't have money to hire helpers, but relied on their family for that help, their older children were excused from school during harvest time. Without the children's help the families would very likely starve because the harvest would not get gathered and bills wouldn't be paid and so on.
There are certain exceptions to compulsory education laws. For example, homeschooling is an exception. But all states mandate when children must begin school and at what age they can drop out. Typically, children must start school by age 6 and remain enrolled until they are at least 16. Don't have to finish grade 12

@DragonGoddess18 I thought you knew. Ms. Allen is the fairy godmother.
Emma's mother is very strange? Why didn't she take care of the chores? And why did she let her daughter be treated so poorly? But kudos to Emma.

They don’t miss her they miss the free labour if she did move back in she be doing chores again

The parents in this story were useless. Between the 2 of them, they couldn't even manage a household. Emma was more of an adult that they were.
AMEN. They could simply hire a housekeeper and a tutor.
They have money: HIRE A HOUSEKEEPER OR A MAID!!!
I have two responses.
They are being cheap.
Why have a housekeeper or a maid while they have Emma?
What a terrible stepsister, stepfather, and mother! They should learn diligence!
Yes, yes they should
@@kpc9602 Better than that, they need to learn how to clean up their home.

@FeleciaWhipple77 Right on. Those are the laziest ignoramus people I have ever seen. I am so glad Emma left as she did.
11:12 More proof how lazy they are. They want their house to be cleaned? Then they can look up how to do it on the Internet
She did chores and managed a household with other three people not helping and tutoring the sister? Glad she kept her boundaries.
Or at least hire someone to do some of those chores for them.
@@jasonrandom372 THANK YOU!!!
Don't trust a stepdad that make you a live in maid and say he is proud and sorry later
@dakimakura7 THANK YOU!!
Sacrificing one child's education to support another child?
Parents of the year, I guess.
Nope
@@kpc9602 What delinger71 is saying is that they are Parents of the Year of being hypocrites, arrogance, and ignorance.
Still
@kpc9602 Still, what? Hate when people can't admit when they're wrong. You misunderstood. Own it.
Absolutely 🤨
I would have done the same thing as Emma. Get out of there
Lily: Could you come back? Just for a while?
Emma: Ohh... You mean start sacrificing for "The Family" again? Hmm??

This story ended abruptly…what happened to her mom? Did she ever realize the hell she put her own daughter through?
PROBABLY IN THE POOR HOUSE!!!
The step dad and mother are rotten !! Why did the mother not do anything
@Dreamerlightning LIKE HER HUSBAND, SHE IS LA TO THE Z AND IS CRA TO THE Z!!
