- Welcome to day 29 in my video series for #GelyPostcardPlay hosted by @CeriGriffiths . This fun "challenge" involves posting a 4 x 6" postcard a day that includes at least one element of gel printing and also includes a number to indicate the date the card is posted. I go over the parameters in my first video of this series but you can check out more comprehensive details by watching Ceri's video introducing the challenge: • #GelyPostcardPlay Launch
For today's postcard I used my new Sharpie Acrylic Brush markers to recreate a whimsical doodled lady I had done one day. I used pan pastels and make up to add a bit of background color and I added some shading using Inktense pencils.

The lady is eccentric and pretty. Love it. We are almost done with the challenge. All of us participants need to party afterwards. ❤
A party is definitely in order! 💯 🎉
I love your doodling and the card is beautiful, Devon!❤️🌹
Thank you very much Penka! ❤️
Omgoodness, Yolande that card and process is amazing. You are a great artist. Thank you.
You are so kind Christine! 🤗 (so sorry about the name mix up)
@@devonrex4 I'm not Michelle. Lol, but thank you.
@@christinecrow1410 oops, so sorry about that 🤪
@@devonrex4 no worries, Yolande. I just didn't want Michelle to miss her message.
Super cute with the cat ears. It looks fun to draw directly on the plate with acrylic markers!. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much Lina! Tfw
I appreciate how you always show past examples of the technique you're doing, or point us to your inspiration. One day I hope to catch one of your live streams.
That makes me so happy to hear! Tfw
Another great card.
Thanks so much! I am glad you like her even if my family doesn’t 🤗
Wow she came out lovely. What a beautiful postcard. Thank you!❤❤
Thank you Janet! I am glad you like it ❤️
I agree with Lucy....it's all good! You made me smile 😉
We can all learn from Lucy 🐶😉😂 Tfw
I think she is pretty and fabulous! After watching you play with the pan pastels so many times, I finally remembered that I have a box of square pastels in the back of one of the craft room closets. I'm gonna have to try them on the gelli plate. TFS 😊
Cool have fun! I have seen people rub the “harder pastels” down on paper or something to get the powder off before putting onto the gel plate. Good luck and have fun!
@@devonrex4 ooh, thanks for that tip!! I was wondering how exactly I would do it.
I really liked this. So cute!❤❤
Thanks a bunch!
WOW Yolande! Fabulous is all I can say
Thanks so much Belinda!
wonderful to see real original art, Yolande
Thanks Dianne ❤️
Brava! Thank you for the information and the inspiration!😊

Thanks a bunch Butterroll!
Love your funky lady! tfs xoxo
Oh thank you! Tfw
Very cool!
Thanks so much! 😃
well this is interesting.......before your video came up there was a commercial for those sharpie markers..... I purchased mine in the states in early April but then i learned from chat a few months later they were available at my local Staples. of course i could have ordered them from Amazon however, it's always fun to find oneself right there in the art supplies aisles .........you just never know what else you are going to find that you never knew you needed before I just love what you created on the gel plate with those markers you are ever so talented
Thanks Babs! These sharpies were less expensive at Amazon Canada than at Walmart or Staples so I think you made the right decision 👍
BEAUTIFUL my dear xxxxxxxx
Thank you Paula! Cheers!
❤🧡💛💚💙💜
Thanks Sonja!
Do you like the Sharpie Markers ???? I misplaced my acrylic markers, tanmit from amazon and I love them, and I got so aggravated that I ordered another set from amazon by coogert and these coogert's are not good at all. I am going to send them back so I was wondering about the Sharpie Markers. I 'think' my tanmit markers are at my friend's RV but she is away on vacation ..... Thank you for sharing this great video. I never thought about using the acrylic paint markers on a gelli plate .... so now I will try this method .... Annie Lou
I tried Posca pens on my geliplate..😮 didn't work and it took forever to get the drawing off the gelli...but, still going to try again!!😊 lovely tutorial!
You need to let them dry fully before pulling off with a layer of acrylic paint. You can usually get any residue off using baby oil (or a mineral oil) and rubbing with some baby wipes (or other damp cloth). Tfw
I do like the Sharpie acrylic markers but for very fine acrylic paint pen work on paper I still think Posca is the way to go (also, poscas are available in more colors). Tfw and have fun!
Crepy? Naaaa…😂she’s a fine lady trapped on a creepy doll body😂😂😂 I love it too, do not listen to this voices❤
