Great haul Hailey!!! I just did my walmart grocery haul too lol ❤❤❤
Your sourdough looked great! I would definitely let it bulk ferment longer though! I always use the shower caps to prevent it from getting dry on top. And then if you add more flour to the top when you score it you can see the score a little better! Then definitely let the bread COMPLETELY cool before cutting it. I know it's tempting but waiting for it to completely cool after baking and then letting it bulk ferment longer will help it not feel gummy 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼
Came here to say dust the top with flour before scoring! Also don’t overwork the bread to help with gumminess in addition to bulk fermenting. I also saw someone say a wet tea towel to help with dryness and I’ve found that to be true!
We have 8 kids and 7 of them plus me LOVE Starbucks! Everyone gets a drink at least once or twice a month! So good.
Loved this video! Your sour dough looked amazing.
Not an expert… keep your tea towel wet throughout the stretch and pulls, bread won’t dry out. Also cool completely before cutting into it. If you cut into it when hot/warm it will be gummy in the middle. I do use her recipe. Each time it gets better! Enjoy
It's a beautiful loaf of bread. The scoring looks great!
Ok so I’m new as well started in January… when I first started mine was gummy… bread flour is a GAME CHANGER at least for me… any recipe I use I ALWAYS change the flour to bread flour helps me… & my church family has actually started buying bread from me because they like it so much!!
You did a wonderful job with your sourdough bread! It looked so nice and what a nice colour it baked up! Always love grocery hauls and fridge restock videos. Thank you, Hailey! Have a wonderful weekend! Blessings ❤ 😊
Hailey, put 20 grams of your dough in a 2 oz condiment container with a lid. Once the dough rises to the lid, it should be fully fermented.
Thanks for sharing Hailey. Enjoy your weekend 💖
Turned out beautiful!!!
I love LMNT too! I started drinking mine in the afternoon and I find it gives me some energy. It helped me reduce my afternoon caffeine intake! Love your videos and channel! 😊
You did amazing. It looked beautiful. I use part whole wheat and part bread flour and that has taken away my gummy bread. Your family will love it. Love your channel.
Kudos to you and all the sourdough makers out there I truly couldn’t do it. I think your loaf turned out beautiful for your 1st go at it this time.
❤️❤️
The bread looked great! I haven’t had the nerve to start that but would love to.
The bread looked delicious. Nothing like warn sourdough with real butter on it. YUMM!!!
😋😋
Try jalapeño and cheddar sourdough loaf or make jalapeño and cheddar sourdough bagels. They are so good!
Ooooh bagels 😋 I want to try the jalapeño and cheddar one and also the double chocolate!
No expert on Sourdough, but, I was taught to score the bread before that final rise, so maybe score it before you put it in the fridge.
Your bread looks delicious 😋 have a blessed day friend 🙏
Your sourdough bread looks so delicious 😋
Looks beautiful!
What a beautiful loaf of sourdough bread. I still need to try my hand at it.
You should! So yummy!
Make sure your loaf is completely cooled before you cut into it. Sometimes it takes longer than an hour. Because it does keep cooking until it’s cool.
I’m not an expert, but Try putting a sheet pan on the bottom rack when baking it helps with the bottom of the loaf. Also I like bread flour too. I’ve had luck with those tips
for the sourdough, make the teatowel wet/moist when you cover it so it will not to dry out.
Ah yes! I forget. Her recipe does say that
Just found your channel and I love it. Your family seems so sweet and genuine. Your videos are so relaxing to watch and I'm enjoying watching past videos. One thing I wanted to know is what kind of spray cleaners you are using? I'm looking for something safe without the harsh chemicals of brand name cleaners.
Great haul
I preheat my oven with Dutch oven inside to 450, take out Dutch oven at 450, lower heat to 425, bake with lid on for 50minutes, lid off an additional 10. I put a sheet pan on the bottom rack to help with the bottom burning
I saw that sheet pan hack yesterday!
I’m going to have to try this recipe because my last few loaves have been fails!
when ya pop ya bowl back in to wait for it to double draw a line with a marker along the line on the side of the bowl.
Good job!
Just a little tip, if you let it cool completely before cutting it won't be gummy in the middle.
Is that always the case? I always let it cool for an hour and it still turns out that way 🥲
@@homewithhailey yes if you let it cool completely, it will not be gummy in the middle. I usually time mine to be done at night and put a towel over it and it will be perfect in the morning for breakfast. You can do same say sourdough if you mix your dough first thing in the morning let it rise about 6 hours put it in the fridge for the rest of the day and then bake it before bed and put a tea towel over it before you go to bed and it will not be gummy in the morning.
Also you can try turning your oven down some so it won't burn on the bottom, I cook mine at 450 for 30 minutes then turn oven down to 425 for another 25 minutes or so with the lid off. Just poke a thermometer in the side and if it reaches 190 or so it is done. I set mine on a cooling rack with a tea towel over it and go to bed and it will be perfect in the morning.
I new to sourdough as well and used that exact recipes but I was concerned it would be burnt on the bottom and gummy in the middle so I turned the temperature down on my oven 25 degrees below what it said and I cooked it just a touch longer and it came out perfect. Of course, this all depends on how your oven cooks since they all cook differently.
If you toast it it might be less gummy too.
Is if necessary to use bottled water for sourdough bread ? I make artisan bread , but just use tap water and it’s fine, your bread turned out fabulous 😊
Nice❤
Great job, Hailey! I plan to try sourdough soon!
May I ask where you got your coffee pod storage basket? I love that it has a lid :)
It’s from target!
@@homewithhailey Thank you!
