This is the best fire coverage I've ever encountered, and having limited free time, I'm so appreciative of the clear concise and no nonsense approach...!!! One would have to watch probably 15 to 20 hours of news coverage to glean only a fraction of the info that you give in 20 minutes...!!! Thanks for all your efforts, sir...👍😎🇺🇸

This has to be one of the top informational sites on YT. I just found it yesterday, so glad, SO IMPRESSIVE!!! Thank you for sharing your experience and expertise!
FYI, YT is doing your channel and your viewers a BIG disservice. I wanted to watch your update specifically, so I typed the video name and channel name exactly as they appear here into the search bar but the first fifteen results were all non-matches of various network video clips giving the ‘latest’ news although some were one, two, or even three days old. Really terrible search results, the exact opposite of the content on your channel. Keep up the objective, non-sensational, hopefully non-politicized coverage of this massive disaster.
Hi Zeke. Keep up the good work. Good to hear you mention Indigenous nations and appropriate fire management. (Caring for Country) We do it all the time now here in AUS. Stay safe. K
If they get any rain. Winter is the typical SoCal rainy season, Spring not so much. AFAIK, no rain events are predicted for the next 2-3 weeks, so there’s not much danger of landslides or mudslides. Mudslides and landslides generally occur when the earth becomes supersaturated. Even if there is a rain event delivering massive volumes of water, the rain will have to penetrate the hardened crust that has been created by the fires. So it’s much more like that we will see major runoff and flooding caused by runoff rather than landslides if there is a big rain in the next two months. Right now, the bigger worry is more Santa Ana wind events. This one was pretty extreme.
Any thoughts on the Australian approach of deploying fixed exterior structural sprinkler systems on new construction? Apparently fairly low volume and quite effective.
Hi I ve been watching on and off for a few days and I cant find any info on Palisades Dr, (off of Sunset)up to Palisades Circle. I know that you are busy , in case you have an extra minute. I hope that my old condo didnt burn thank you for all of your work.
@ ....You single-handedly presented the best counter arguments to why a controlled burn won't work in urban fires. Tons of videos from different people don't include the year, so when you watch a video 3 to 4 years from now say, you might not remember the year. Same thing is I couldn't tell you the meals I ate last week, it all gets muddled in some peoples memory. Too bad the masses can't hear your counter narrative. If you catch on, someone may want to refer to your video clips in the future where it would be much more succinct to include the year. Sorry, don't mean to beat a de*d horse.
Last time I heard from another source of news that they only have a window between now and another 18 hours before the next big wind storm coming in. Only 18 to 19 hours. At least. And by the way I love this set up you have for your show. The graphs everything. You really seem to be the only one like me that understands weather and fires going on here now. Me being a California conservation Corp as a forest firefighter. Started in 1987 right after high school because I wanted to become a Forest sheriff or park ranger type of job. I loved the country and I always wanted to protect it. I don't regret being a firefighter. I loved it but I did get hurt in the job on my last fire in Tahoe. Long story short... A tree on fire came down on my leg and broke my knee. I was trying to get my team out of danger before myself. And I took the hit. But it was ok. My team came back for me and helped me out. We always worked together just like in the service. But some people just don't respect our jobs too. Not just the firefighter that just used to do homes. They have plenty to do now even tho they can't get it from the front of it. Doesn't mean they still can't follow the fire up to keep the flames down on the way to its tail. Just can't be standing around doing nothing. If I was able to do it now I'd be out there doing all I can to slow it down or something. I wouldn't be just standing around. But that's me.

Australia does, have, controlled burn off, to prevent massive bushfire,in certain areas. As Australia has bushfires, big time.
Now they will have to worry about spring landslides. This will be messed up for years to come. What a shame.
