TGIF Fiona! I loved this concept.. Its so refreshing to see a business not entirely "money" driven and trying to be more accessible. I hope more people will start up things like this, it is a wonderful idea and I am so happy that people are honest with her with pricing and donating. Its always good to hear that there are actually good people out there
Thank you for being here as always, Kate - TGIF!! :) I had all the same thoughts when I learned about her business - she has such a generous, creative spirit and I knew I had to share her with the community here! 🥰🥰🥰
Wow...loved this! really great concept behind the shop and how much the owner has persevered in keeping the shop going is inspiring. Loved her. Thank you for sharing with us and it is so wonderful how open heartedly you support people making art and doing art accessible. i appreciate that a lot🌻❤
It’s so cool right?! I just knew when I learned about this business that I had to share it with y’all :) makes me so happy to hear you loved watching it :) Thank you for being here!
This made me sooo very happy! You did a great job with the interview & Sam is just wonderful & I want to magically be transported to NJ to be art friends with all of yall!
I’m so glad you enjoyed it :) Sam is a serious creative queen - it was so fun to interview her! Sam does do online courses if you are ever interested to see more of her and be a part of that art friend community :) And of course, you’re always welcome here, my friend!
What a beautiful, vibrant soul she is! And her Arts Venue looks amazing 🤩 Thank you for taking us along Fiona. I’d love to have somewhere like that near where I live North West UK 🇬🇧
Thank you so much for watching, Wendy! :) I had never heard of an art thrift before so when I learned about propagate, I knew I had to share it with as many fellow artists as possible! With that said, Sam has online courses so if you are interested to see more from her, you can check those out on her website :) she even teaches others open their own art thrift, so maybe you can be the one to bring it to the UK ;)
Loving the new mics, the amazing interview at the end and dang this is such a cool creative space!!! Love to see y’all bringing more art into the world!🫶🙌💪
Her store looks amazing. You didn't talk about becoming a non-profit, and I wondered about that since all the thrift stores I know about are non-profit. It would be great to hear from her on that topic (both pros and cons), thanks!
Hey there! Thanks for watching :) You are right that we didn’t discuss that, but if I’m being honest I don’t believe it’s a non-profit model she has since the studio does workshops, makers markets and other things. I could be wrong though! I’ll definitely ask her next time we connect :)
i thrifted some doll heads and hands a while back, put the hands on the ends of a claw extension grabber thing i had and use it to creep out house guests lol i like making them clap
Great video! Great idea for a shop!!
Thank you, Barbara :) Glad you enjoyed it! Isn’t an art thrift store such a smart idea?! I love it!!
