    My wife, Sylvia and I have the Legacy Elite II, 2019 Hull #428 and we love it! No wood construction, except for the beautiful dove tail drawer boxes, means no rot! The overbuilt aircraft aluminum frame, custom built by Oliver for their TT, and SS marine grade hardware through out means no rust! The 3500 lb Dexter Tandem Axles with four shocks not only gives a quality ride but provides up to 1800 lbs of on board cargo, far exceeding the capacity of similar size trailers! Coupled with a yacht quality Fiberglass Constructed Hull that is aerodynamic and tracks in the same ruts as my Toy Tundra means it’s great off road but you forget it’s there at Interstate Highway speeds! Is it worth the Price? Heck Yes!

    I don’t want to dump on anyone else’s trailer but…… I have owned almost every type of rv there is over the years, Teardrop to class A with everything in between, been in many more. People look for different features depending on what they want (more likely what they think they want) and factors like family size etc. but bar none and I mean NONE there is no better built trailer for sale in the US. Period. If you really do your research, see the build process, materials used, the fact that these are custom made for each customer, these are not slapped together in fact they only build about 100 a year, that’s a week or a week and a half for many builders. The fact that historically these have resold for at least what the original buyer paid not just recently but over the entire time they they have been making them that is unheard of with any other rv builder. I happily just finished paying of my trailer, will pick up in August, yes it’s loaded with lots of options I paid about 85k, this will be the last trailer I will ever have to buy, heck it will be the last trailer my grandkids will need. Size wise it’s perfect for 1-2 people AND you can take it anywhere! High clearance and small enough to fit anywhere it won’t be a pavement queen for me!

    • @RandisAdventures
      @RandisAdventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Brad! I did not know that they only make about 100 Oliver travel trailers per year. I could feel the quality of the build when I walked into it and I agree.... quality does matter. I too love the size and the ability to be able to virtually go anywhere!

    • @bradarmstrong7467
      @bradarmstrong7467 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@RandisAdventures they are trying to ramp that up a bit but still keep the quality, I pick mine up in August (2022) and my hull number will be about 1200 that number includes both models they have been making them almost 20 years, granted there were a few years (4?) in the last recession (2008ish) where the rv manufacturing shut down but they have averaged about that over time.

      An addendum and clarification of my statement that Oliver makes 100 a year, they have AVERAGED less than a hundred a year, (they have been around for 15 years or so and my new trailer is hull number 1211, (to be delivered to me in August) you do the math!) I spoke with them and was told that they are trying to build 200-300 a year now so they have started to ramp up a bit, still a very low volume manufacturer with every unit hand made and bespoke for each customer.

      The Tab 400 is pretty well made when compared to other more traditionally made Trailers. Before I bought my Oliver I bought one and went on a two week, cross country road trip. It just wasn’t big enough for me, I sold it, got 98% of my money back and ordered the Oliver. The 400 feels much more cramped especially if you are 6ft tall or taller and the bathroom is much smaller. Everything on the Oliver is just a step up.

    Well equipped Airstream would be similarly priced. Certainly the heavy duty chassis is part of that $60K, but the double shell fiberglass construction makes it pricey. But, that will last, with no or minimal seams to worry about leaking, rusting, rotting. Fiberglass would be lighter, but after loaded it up with features and options, need a good rig to pull it. Definitely a long term RV. If Little Guy Max were fiberglass, wonder what the weight savings would be?

    It's a beautiful camper and, if you have the money, I'm sure it's well worth the price! It's a little bigger and heavier than we wanted ourselves. We just purchased a used Geo Pro TB15 foot camper with the same twin bed arrangement that we love - you don't have to climb over each other to get in or out of bed to use the bathroom at night, but at 1/4 the price, it left us more money for actually taking trips. I really love that coat and shoe closet by the door - that would be very handy while camping! Thanks to this lovely couple for sharing their camper with us - it was fun to see it!

    We've been researching travel trailers & after coming full circle & even strongly considering the adorable lil guy max - we have come back & narrowed it down to the Oliver. 🤗 I want to add that i wish we'd have pulled the trigger 2 yrs ago... because the price has gone up quite a bit - esp if you add options...but even with that said...it's still worth it to us. Without any doubt though... this trailer is the absolutely best made 100% 4 seasons trailer. The take is close to what owners paid for it - unbelievable! We're thrilled that with their extensive lithium & solar pkg they offer now - that we will be able to have ac &/or heat if need be, when we are boondocking & enjoy nature while still being comfortable. It has everything we need & honestly... the most committed & loyal customers I've ever seen. I do have to add though Randy... that I love the lil guy max too - it's so cute... but unfortunately it just doesn't fit our needs. It proves we all are different & have to find what works for us. Thank you for what you do...we just bought our gladiator rubicon & your video helped us in our decision....cute & fun! 😉 Enjoy your travels & stay safe.

      Hi Lorie!!! It is so fun to hear that you “pulled the trigger!” Everyday without a camper is a non-camping weekend!
      I absolutely love my Little Guy Max camper but I know there are other choices that may accommodate other campers better. I really like that the Oliver is a true 4 season camper although I have had no problems winter camping in Minnesota in my LGM.
      I’d love it if Xtreme Outdoors had a lithium/solar package too. I have wanted to upgrade to lithium batteries and more solar but I am not convinced it’s an easy process and there might be unexpected problems so buying a trailer with a lithium solar package is intriguing. Hey, Xtreme Outdoors…. I am hoping you are reading this!!!

      @bradarmstrong7467 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I don’t think they have much less storage compared to other trailers, few trailers (unlike 5th wheels or Motorhomes) have outside storage and the Oliver has upper cabinets like most. To be honest I have a truck with a roll up metal cover over the bed so I have all the storage I need

    I think there is a lot of thoughtful construction in that trailer. I liked the locking drawers too. I learned the hard way with the Max that the drawers don't close well for travel. My only gripe is that it seems to me the closet shelving isn't that great. In the Max, I like the distance between shelves and hang up. My favorite thing with the wetbath with the sink where the sink spigot became the shower. Too cool. I do not know if I'd pay $60K though. A little too steep for my budget. 2022 models are starting at $65K, and I know the Max jumped substantially this year too (got my 2019 for about $33 brand new, now seeing them go for $42 brand new). Also, for those wondering, this trailer runs about 7000 lbs GVWR and 4900lbs dry.

    It would definitely be worth it if they upgraded the suspension to make it more off road capable. Convert to independent suspension trailing arms with shocks, coils and airbags (like the Australian caravans) and we would be buyers. Every other component on the trailer and the overall construction is well worth $60K. The Australian caravans we're looking at (Kimberley, Bruder, Lotus, Kendron) are more than twice that amount!

    Shell within a shell fiberglass trailers like this one and other double shell makes/models command a serious price tag and it shows. If a single shell RV is good enough for you, pricing seems about half. This gives prospective buyers a distinct first choice to make... save money and have single shell (perhaps with carpeted wall) or go double. Viva la choice. The other BIG quality feature I very much like in the Oliver is the compartments are literally molded in and not fastened to the shell. That's a pretty serious quality feature that makes it worth the $60k (2023 even more).

    Worth it? Maybe but I found some feature to be weird like the privacy shades and the tv locations.

    I liked the storage and the twin bed set up. But I still like my LGM better.

    • @RandisAdventures
      @RandisAdventures  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Carol! My understanding is the tanks are enclosed between the shells which helps them from freezing. The 4 season feature is something I liked about the Oliver Legacy.

    • @bradarmstrong7467
      @bradarmstrong7467 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Carol, the Oliver is basically a shell within a shell, it’s built like a yeti ice chest with insulation and an air space between the shells for better performance in more extreme weather. That space is heated and that is where the tanks are located. Thus giving the true 4 season ability. Many people claim there rig is four season, but if they don’t have there tanks inside, heated and insulated, it’s not true 4 season. The real magic is that it was designed in such a way as everything between the two shells is easily accessible for service. Just curious, why did you find the privacy shades weird? They actually were a big selling point for me, good looking, the fiberglass surround was very well done, attractive and keeps the shades from bouncing around while driving as many of my past rigs have done. Not sure given the floor plan where would be better for the TV so it could be seen by anywhere in the rig but I doubt I will ever use it so it doesn’t bother me personally.

    • @Carolann_237
      @Carolann_237 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bradarmstrong7467 I found the blinds unusual because the privacy comes down for the top. That is opposite of most privacy shades. I like being able to pull mine up just enough so no on can see me but I can still let air in.. Beautiful trailer!

      There's a lot of features that other fiberglass trailer manufacturers should take note of. Prices on stick & staple RV's have gone through the roof due to covid-19 and supply chain issues. That said if you're already looking at 30k+ for a trailer certain items should be standard if not optional. I'm not a wet bath fan and so I'm waiting on the roll out of the Escape 23. Things like full extension drawers, soft close and serious on road latching systems are also important. Also a true 4 season trailer should be an upgrade as well. I'd like to hope manufacturers look at each others products and have some serious in-house round tables on improvements.

    • @bradarmstrong7467
      @bradarmstrong7467 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jimo, I understand and agree that those features are very desirable (why I bought an Oliver) but most manufacturers build to a price point, and frankly, 30k now is the entry point of trailers. The hardest thing on your list is TRUE 4 season camping. To do that ALL plumbing, tanks, preferably all your mechanicals need to be in an interior, insulated, heated space. The way 99% of trailers are made, that is really not an option. Some high end 5th wheels and motorhomes do that but Oliver is the only trailer I know of that does this. There are a lot of people who claim there trailer is 4 season but if they don’t have the features I described, they are NOT 4 season.

    • @bradarmstrong7467
      @bradarmstrong7467 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I just want to say If your going to buy used, Oliver is one of the very few I would risk doing that because of the build quality. The vast majority of RV’s are not built to stand up to years of use, I know from personal experience that buying a used RV usually means buying a money pit.

    • @bradarmstrong7467
      @bradarmstrong7467 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      And as far as trying to buy used to save money, Oliver’s typically sell at or a little more than their original price, so while yes perhaps you buy a three year old Oliver, you’ll pay the price from three years ago, personally I don’t see that as a huge price advantage over a new one. The biggest advantage is that you don’t have to wait a year for your trailer after you purchase it.
