    Awesome video Edwin. That’s where I grew up fishing and my favorite place to fish in the world. Before the floods a couple years ago that cut threw was only a foot deep. It got washed out nicely from it. I was there back in September and fished the southeast corner of that island and caught 25 fish in 10 min. I then went up to the 99 bridge and fished for and hour and went back to the island and caught another 15 from the same brush pile. It was 🔥! God Bless!

    I’m a little late getting to this video, it just popped up for me. I’m terrible about going up the feeder creeks because the lake I fish (Arbuckle) has the looooongest no wake zones to get back there.
    Giving the time is great. Back before your daddy met your mama there was a fishing show on Chanel 4 in OKC with a great guy named Don Wallace. A friend of mine won a trip with Don to some lake here in Oklahoma. He said it took three days to get enough fish for one 30 minute TV show making it look like it was all one afternoon. 😂

    Good information right there. Like the addition of the equipment breakdown at rhe end.
    So, this season, I decided to put time into crankbait fishing. I put together a dedicated rod and reel setup for this specific technique. A 7' M/H BPS Crankin' Stick and a PQ2 5.6:1 reel. My thinking was this would be a good all round setup. I mostly threw squarebills shallow, with occasional crankbaits in the 10' range. While I didn't have great sucess in numbers, I definitely picked up some quality fish.
    Next season, I'm thinking on expanding this set of tools.
    Can you do a "primer" discussion so to speak, on crankbait setups? Something that would keep it simple for the average angler? My limited experience taught me, my current setup was a little to heavy for 1.5 baits, but excelled at 2.5 squaebills.
    Any information would be appreciated.

    When I hear this kind of advice (look for natural choke points, watch for popping baitfish, pay attention to water clarity, etc), it makes me think I have become too dependent on my fish finder. Sometimes I think I had more luck BEFORE I got these fancy-dancy electronics. If you had decided to fish a particular section of that creek because of those kinds of variables, would you fish it even if you saw nothing of interest on your sonar? I think I would probably just keep on moving, or if I did fish it, I might be too likely to have less confidence in my chances because the sonar screen was empty resulting in some half-assed fishing. I'd love to know your thoughts... I'm struggling through the most serious fishing slump ever and am basically desperate to identify what the heck it is that I'm doing so wrong.

    • @EdwinEversfishing
      @EdwinEversfishing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Don’t overthink it Nathan. An area like this that I’m fishing you really don’t even need to know the depth , Let alone have a depth finder. That’s what makes it so simple.

  • @bobmorrow2957

    Question! When the river is 5 degrees colder than the lake do you avoid it?

    • @EdwinEversfishing
      @EdwinEversfishing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    • @EdwinEversfishing
