  • These 5 points are core principles of JKD. They can apply to any move. You will find these points are met when you observe Bruce Lee or anyone who follows the path of JKD well enough.
    這五個重點是截拳道的核心原理,可以套用在所有動作上,你可以用來觀察李小龍本人的動作,或者全世界截拳道練得好的人,都必定符合這些重點。

Wow I just watched a few of your videos I sure wish they were in English I'm from USA one of the problems I see in people trying to express JKD is they come from boxing karate or TKD and they can't seem to shake off habits ingrained in there muscle memory and therefore just never get it's keep up the good work

Excellent video..and I like the fact that you use both hands in punching vs. 90% with just your lead hand. Also your technique for keeping the punch, body pivot, and feet in synch is great (i like the fact that you train to make the body move faster). Subscribed!!

All-in-All Thank you for the feedback!
If one too attached to the idea only using one side of body to attack, or anything else, then one falls into the limitation created by himself. We should react or act as we see fit, like water :)
Human body has weights(mass), what makes those weights useful is momentum, therefore the faster you can transfer different parts of your body weight( to sync), the powerful your strikes will be.
      Train hard!

I just saw a video on the JKD vertical fist, in which the presenter advised to chain punch using the circular bicycling technique. Was this Bruce Lee's understanding of Wing Chun chain punch? Was this an actuate representation or a misrepresentation of the JKD chain punch? Did he teach/use the chain punch with a straight lead punch or a circular lead punch? Thank you for your input.

Hello, thank you for commenting. Im not quite understand what “circular bicycling technique” is. Do you have that video’s link? Thank you🙏🏻

the hand always moves first this makes you faster and most deseaptfull.

ιωάννης λουλαδάκης thank you for the comments!
From my own experience, most of the time move the fist first IS better in street fights. Also, it means you already shown no telegraphing with your punches.
However, if your opponent(s) are experienced, good amount of times they will move away while you’re punching. So if your feet didn’t react in time, even your punch is fast, a great chance you’ll still miss your target, or reduce big chunk of your impacts.
Second, if you try to increase the strength of your punch, you have to move all your body parts together, that way you can transfer your weights fast enough to cause great impact(damage) into your target.
Bottom line, muscles give you good body weight, but if you only use your arm to punch, you lose more energy( to your arm)than people that punch with the coordination of the whole body. You could punch 10~20 times, but he can throw twice or three times of that among because instead of just using his arm, he spreads muscles fatigues into different parts of his body evenly, thus he can punch more efficiently.
It’s my personal experience, just for your reference. 🙏🏻

hello, thanks so much for this detailed video. ive been taught that the hand should move first in a punch, and the body follows, in order to avoid telegraphing. however youre saying here the hand, body and feet must move together. does the hand moving first also apply here?
also can you do a tutorial on the hook kick?

What makes a person strikes powerful depends on how well the person coordinated(sync) different parts of his body to move as one, so all the weight can transfer to the single point at the same time.
It doesn't matter if you move your hand or body or leg first really; as long as all the weights from different parts of the body reach the end(the target) together, it's a good integration of weight transferring.
Now if you've been training to move hand first, you need to make sure if your body and legs' weight reach the target RIGHT AT The moment your fist impact the target.
Because if not, your punch is powerful, but it cannot be MORE powerful or faster because the missing of body and legs.
As long as you can move your body & legs as fast as your hand while punching, isn't that avoid the telegraphing as well :)?
So to avoid the complications, usually I suggest to move them together instead of one.
And it will definitely cause confusion to your body if you are not use to it. It's normal. Years ago It took me a while to move my hand, body and legs as one, too.
As for hook kick, it is on my list :). I'm actually working on the second video now, hopefully it will be out soon.

What type of heavybag should i get for bare knuckle training ,

    • @jkda-fong999
      @jkda-fong999  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Brian Keane Both tower bag and regular heavy bag are good for training.
The hanging heavy bag usually won't block/interfere your footwork.
The tower bag in the other hand, are more settle than hanging one, so you can work on something like chain punch. Bottom line it depends on your need.
If you just want to train your striking techniques, Wing Chin wall bag is a good choice, too.

I have trained on a the traditional heavy bag for many years but I will say that after I got my Mook Jong, I work on it more often now vs the heavy bag. It does a better job and toughening and desensitizing my hands for impact and with the arm pegs, I can work on doing defensive movements such as catches, parries and slips where the pegs give me proprioception feedback. Just my thoughts. Good luck with finding what you need.

    You learn JKD wrong concept!
You are using the forces from your arm only.
You forgot Great Master Bruce Lee said, the punch should be like an iron ball attach to an iron chain, so that your legs ,body, shoulder, must move faster than your arm and your fist first. It is like flow your fist out, and hurt your opponent inside internally.
JKD is a training to kill people as a killer as Tysen (the greatest boxer in this century) said.
Please go through Bruce clips and watch one frame by one frame or in slow motion. And you will know what I am talking about.
