almost all cds have used auto tune at one point or another, sometimes the producer wont even tell the band they are using it, he doesnt use auto tune live tho, he uses backing tracks and vocal harmonizer and delay, people make the mistake of thinking it is autotune! also, he is quite a good singer live!
Nope, I prefer it the original way. That's one of the best parts of the song and the main reason I like it. It's what caught my attention and made me pay attention to the song. I love those chords and octaves in the original when he goes down low for that part. It's very somber, atmospheric and has this laid back, look up at the stars, alien quality, which lends itself well to the whole "Owl City" imagery that your mind conjures up when you think about what his Moniker represents.
he never sang for anyone and never took voice lessons and then they suddenly made him go out on tours and he does his best...he gets very tired during concerts also (he is an insomniac, remember guys) so cut him some slack! Wow. If you ask me, he sounds pretty decent in his lives. Plus people, take into account that when you're live, your attention is pulled in so many different directions. When you're in the studio you can focus solely on your vocals and you can make all the crazy faces you need to to reach those notes and not worry about looking ugly in front of people. Regardless, Adam sounded good. Sounded like the recording. Wish he didn't change the chorus up but I see why he does it that way.

I doubt the whole song is sung by Matt Thiessen. Then it wouldn't be by Owl City, would it. Either way, all of the the vocals are heavily electronically modified on all of the songs. And even on songs where it's just Adam Young singing, the live version is very different. =)

haha he actually has a drummer and a lead keyboardist, but i can tell you from my experience i play similar live music and it does suck! no one there to cover your mistakes!
