Think of it like this, - every time a Christian speaks, it's not always a preach or a prayer or sharing the gospel, though hopefully it always glorifies God to some extent. So for lots of Christian musicians, not every song is a worship song. Even though this song actually sort of is, but just talks to God in the 2nd person, because why not? Music is an art form, it's supposed to be creative. On this channel we like to promote and give a platform to all genres of music written by Christians. So I definitely wouldn't expect to hear Jesus' name in every song! But to us the definition of secular music isn't necessarily the content, but the heart of the person who wrote it. After all, music can't be saved or unsaved, the problem is that the term 'Christian music' has various definitions and meanings to people.
James Martin when you praise God, you never do it religiously like a "koombaya"..spontaneous worship or glorification is what pleases Him, a new song that comes from the heart with pure adoration..you can sing a praise song like a parrot, but from the heart is like an empty flow, as for spontaneous glorification, it flows from a genuine relationship with God for who He is. and I'm sure He acknowledges it.
Yeah I totally see where you guys are coming from, it should never be a religious thing because we aren't called to that but to freely express the love of God. In my case I wasn't looking hard enough at the song to find anything that resonated with me personally which I think worship should. But circumstantially I can totally see the value in this kind of free expression. Personally I feel like right now with where I'm at with music I find more value in seeing the power and glory in words explicitly sung to God, but I feel like given the time and the place and the movement of the Holy Spirit, this would be a really powerful piece of worship.
the beat is good, just the lyrics are too general for me. I prefer deep thinking lyrics( which are hard to make i understand that) but hopefully something i like is uploaded!(i did subscribe cuz a few sobgs i did like.

I struggle to see how a lot of these songs aren't considered secular to be honest. Are we all becoming afraid of openly praising God's name?
