FYI “The Right Stuff” sales a front disc brake conversion kit that will fit a 14” rim. The kit is also priced pretty reasonably. Just food for thought.

My '65 Tempest has about 112K so the control arm bushings and ball joints are either shot or at the end of their useful life. Instead of refurbishing the stock parts will install new tubular arms that of course include new bushings and ball joints and also address some of the design limitations of the stock parts. Good series of videos. Thanks and good luck.

Would have loved tubular arms but was trying to just get it back in the road, my 78 pontiac was taking all my time and money and it was too original to mess with lol

@@hodgepodgegarage3911 From my 2 cents replacing the ball joints was the way to go. Especially as you ended up selling the car.
The 'Chinese' tubular arms seem to be a reasonable alternative, $. Will upgrade them for the Tempest with the Proforged tall ball joints as the ball joints that come with the Chinese arms appear low end stuff and the longer ball joints address another of the GM suspension design limitation/s. But only after I get the thing back on the road as is. Dragged the Tempest out of the back yard and it is in very similar condition to that Olds.
Was great to watch you get a similar car/condition back into running shape.
      Thanks.

@@timecklund7685 thanks! I lost a ball joint on a suburban I had once and now I don’t trust old suspension parts lol I’ve got adjustable uppers on my 78 and it’s nice to be able to fine tune it!

I tried to explain it in the outro but I sold it to a man in Savannah ga said he had one when he was younger and wanted another one to cruise atriums in, it was running and driving and stopping under its own power and he said he was gonna finish it up! I would have loved to keep it but I have one never ending project and that’s what most of the money went to, I do have a lot of stuff on order for my 78 trans am that will be making some videos soon on!
