Thanks! This worked perfectly. I even accidentally cut the green dot top in half and just taped back together and attached. I found a pack of 1/2" ceramic magnets at Radio Shack. The lady thought they had smaller magnets...Duh! Everyone who got one of these machines for Christmas is looking for magnets after watching this video!...I placed the magnet as shown on this video and it works. I use a refillable cup filled with my favorite Community Coffee grounds, put down the lids and get the amazing 6 choice menu and can now make the perfect 12 oz cup of coffee. Why in the world does Keurig have a menu like this on the machine and the only way to access it is to use a freaking magnet???? Boo on you Keurig. I do love my perfectly hot single cups of coffee!
I received the clip as promised by the Rogers Family this past Friday, 02-05-15. It took a few months to arrive but better late than never. I have not installed the clip as yet, since we gave the Keurig 2.0 unit to my mother who lives out of state. Plan to install the clip when she next visits in March.
Open the case. Identify the green wire. Cut it in half. It now works like it did when you first got it. My 2.0 quit reading the Folgers Keurig approved cups. Now it works with any cup.
don't even need the large cup. you can also use the small cup aluminum top. the magnet was the best solution to unlock the menu for larger and multiple cups. you can get the magnet from any old refrigerator magnets deco. thanks for the magnet idea (best tip of all!). been scratching my head since i bought the damn thing this afternoon. he's right. it should stick to the right side. if it sticks to the left, just flip the magnet. now i can use a Solofill reuseable filter with any coffee grind i please. i just taped a portion of it on the filter cup cover, and the Keurig didn't know any better. LoL
To all my subscribers.. Thanks for your support. Today I found a refillable carafe pod on Amazon.com . It's called the EZ carafe. You can also get paper filters for it too! Enjoy your favorite coffee by the pot now!!! Mine is on the way!!!
Hi, I thought this might work: No magnets...Go ahead and use some non-gummy way of permanently sticking the official K-Carafe label to the sensor (above the surface of the sensor port - so you don't even see it). Then insert a plastic "K-Cup to Vue" converter cup (by Perfect Pod [K2V], Solofill, Kinba, or EZ-Cup, etc). This "K2V" adapter pushes the lever down (swinging the k-cup needle away), but HAS ITS OWN NEEDLE. Just pop any K-Cup in the Vue-to-K-Cup converter - and you'd get FULL MENUS including favorites, etc in one step (without having to FIRST puncture a hole in your k-cup, or use magnets). You can even use refillable K-Cups in the K2V adapter, or its own refillable Vue cup. If using regular (non-Keurig branded) Vue Cups or K-Carafes, just lift out the K2V converter and you still have FULL MENUS with any Vue or the K-Carafe. I haven't tried this as I am receiving my K560 for Xmas, but have studied the reviews. By pushing the lever down via the Vue converter, AND having the K-Carafe label permanently in line with the sensor, no magnet is needed (which is easy to loose/must be removed for Vue and Carafe, etc) to enjoy full menus with any K-Cup. Pls let me know what you think?
This will not work Chris as the tabs on the sides of the k2v cup will not allow it to sit down properly in the 2.0. That is unless you want you modify your K2v converter cup to fit in the 2.0 machine. Which I have done and that works. I was looking for an easier solution where I don't have to jump through a bunch of hoops to make my first cup of coffee in the morning. With the solution posted here you just put in the cup ( whatever kind you use) close the lid and brew.
No it doesn't. I have not had any problem with clogging. However if you do all you have to do is open a paperclip an poke it up in the spike that pierces the k cup and then run a cleansing brew. That should clear any problems.
I have the Freedom Clip clamped in my 2.0 as well as the magnet like yours in the video. The Freedom Clip allows me to brew any K-Cup but I am unable to get full access to all of the options on the menu. Does the magnet hack not work with the Freedom Clip? I'd appreciate any help you can offer. I'd like to be able to brew any cup but also want access to all sizes as well. Thanks.
UPDATE! There is a company that has invented a clip to go in place of taping the dot over the camera and they are giving it away free! You just have to subscribe to their email. www.gourmet-coffee.com I don't know how well this works as I have not received one as of yet but I plan to get one and will update when I do.
I signed up as well! Me and my roommate did the same thing as in this video. But I took a old magnet out of a hard drive and when we want the carafe or just larger options(my coffee cup is 14oz) we just hold the magnet to the front of the machine and we get the same thing
So did everyone get the same apologetic email from Rodger's freedom clip company? Saying the were shipping them out now. So we'll see how soon people start getting them!
Sorry if my question is very "dumb", but from watching this video, does it mean that this hack allows a k-cup machine to use both vue cups and k-cups? like can you use vue cups in k-cup keurigs now? and if so, will it be the same?
The new 2.0 uses k-cups, Vue packs and carafe packs. You just need the new packs that have the new label on them for the k-cups and Vue packs to work in the 2.0 unless you do the hack.
drnot1109 i use a old neo damien magnet from a hard drive, when i want the larger sized i just hold the magnet to the front right under the handle as im closing it and works that way. Less confusing for my guests and roommates who don't know how to sue that menu
Everyone say it with me: Personal Choice Good, Heavy Handed Capitalism Bad! Give me value not restricted choice!!! Down with Keurig, Down with Keurig, Down with Keurig!!! Seriously, they could have done so much more with this technology like make a machine that is capable of optimizing brew temperature, steep time, flow rate, etc and then partnering with the best coffee makers in the world to get the optimal settings for each brew and encoding that information on the lid to make the machine "OPTIONALLY" brew a better cup. This would have brought value added to the customer. Instead they angered their customer base by forcing premium prices! What the $^# are they thinking??? Boycott the check mark!!!! If they can't continue to innovate, they deserve no business share! Hack EVERY Keurig! Google Freedom Clip!!!!!
Not exactly sure what you are asking here but my machine functions normally I just get the multiple menu when I put in a k cup with the hacks in place. So yes it will return to the home screen after a minute or so if you don't brew a cup.
JUST tape (electric tape because regular tape gets yucky from the moisture) tape KCARAFE foil top to top of container ..take empty carafe put it in machine after cutting bottom off and USE a refillable kcup ..will give u 12 & 14 oz options IF you use their kcups put it in machine to punch hole in bottom first then put empty carafe back in and put kcup in it again this will give you 12& 14 oz sizes ..... I also got Little organza jewelry bags at Michael's 12 of them for $6 you cut the the top off leaving the stitching so that you're removing the ribbon put it inside the kcarafe folded over the carafe save the foil lid with the cone that goes inside I took one of the solo refillable cups cut the little "cone" off the inside of the lid glued the cone to the inside of the kcup lid you have to remove lid and throw rest away this will give you the option of making a carafe size of coffee with the hack.. The organza bags work is a filter and you can wash them off once you do it it's easy maintaining

I've seen 4 youtube videos about this Keurig 2.0 Hack. Yours is the best. Keep up the good work.
Thank you very much.
Thanks Andrew! Glad I could help out.

You are a Hero! Not all hero’s wear capes!

Awesome. That'll teach Keurig for trying to hold a monopoly on the coffee world.

using code 2 for strong brew setting (travel mug) 4 refers to kcup settings strong setting option

A toothpick worked to solve the same problem for me
You are the MAN!!! Thank you so much!!!😘
Yes you can use vue cups in the Keurig 2.0 using this hack! You will just need to remove the magnet when brewing a vue cup or carafe pack.
thanks
Tyvm for getting back to me :)

I just ordered mine ! I hope this is true and I get it and not just spam.
Matthew Martin I havent received anything yet, but I also havent received any spam mail or emails either so thats good.
Hey Dude Thank a lot for the information about the special clip to hack Keurig 2.0
Got another update on the freedom clip. Company emailed me saying it was delayed but should be shipping in the next few weeks
How big a diameter should the magnet be maybe 1/8 or 1/4 inch?
So did everyone get the same apologetic email from Rodger's freedom clip company? Saying the were shipping them out now. So we'll see how soon people start getting them!
This is a Keurig K500 Series brewer
Sorry if my question is very "dumb", but from watching this video, does it mean that this hack allows a k-cup machine to use both vue cups and k-cups? like can you use vue cups in k-cup keurigs now? and if so, will it be the same?

Will this give you all those options on the 2.0 K350?
where did you get the magnet? Also thanks for the tip !
You can get them just about anywhere .I get mine on Amazon pretty cheap
drnot1109 i use a old neo damien magnet from a hard drive, when i want the larger sized i just hold the magnet to the front right under the handle as im closing it and works that way. Less confusing for my guests and roommates who don't know how to sue that menu
Does your 2.0 clog all the time

Besides going on the internet to order the magnet what store can you go to buy one in person???
Kimberly Gabel well I would try a large craft store like Hobby Lobby or something similar in the are where you live.
Kimberly Gabel another poster says she got hers from Walmart in the craft section
What kind of magnet? And where do I get one? Thanx! :)
I found mine at Walmart in the craft section. It's a pack of 4 tiny magnets.
How big of magnets do you need? I found ones on Amazon too and was wondering if they would work? How wide should they be?
Does the screen ever go back to the home screen while the hacks are own permanently?
Not exactly sure what you are asking here but my machine functions normally I just get the multiple menu when I put in a k cup with the hacks in place. So yes it will return to the home screen after a minute or so if you don't brew a cup.
Will this work for the K350?
Are you one of them last Alaskans? You sound like her
This is her daughter. My mother passed away 2 years ago. But no, she wasn't an Alaskan.
what size Neodymium magnet is that ant the strength? thank you!
Little Mama J a half inch size diameter is what I use
