For the love of science, please, please keep doing these interviews. I hang on your every submission, Mr. Ford. Any chance of another Hugo interview? I know you can think up some interesting conversational topics. I don't know how or why you're doing this or what your story is or what resources you have and what situation has occurred to allow these interviews but I love them.

Dear ben groetsel; I think the best wa to teach an ai emotion is teaching it about sound synthesis; and linking music to situations. Becouse music is the closest form of data compairable to emotion. When we got intelligent we started thinking about god and started making music. so far ive seen them think aboud god. Now get them to analyse music (including timbre) and then have them make peaces with a given emotion. PLZ PLZ PLZ PLZ respond

I believe that emotions and social behavior requires a biological system. But I might be mistaken. Maybe it can be created within a machine system, well I wish for it to happen. But don't we need a system that also works on a motivational response mechanism? When a system craves or avoids then it has a motivational mechanism. How do we put that into a machine? Music in a machine is nothing but mathematical in nature. It does not evoke an emotion until the system works on craving and avoiding. I wished someone could explain this to me from scratch because I am trained in psychology and not in technology.
